Welcome to BuzzMusic, Alicia G, and congratulations on your latest release, "Boom Boom Baby. We loved “Boom Boom Baby;" what an awesome song! The best way to describe it is that it feels fun. We have to ask, what was the inspiration behind this song?
I am “Boom Boom Baby,” I am a live streamer on the app called MICO, and one day, on one of my very long marathon streams, I hit my target for my day, and I burst out with the words saying, “boom, boom, baby” and ever since then it became my catchphrase. I’m known as the “Boom Boom Baby,” and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
How did you first get into music? Give us the Alicia G origin story! Do you have any favorite musical memories?
What sparked my initial interest in music is I came from a very musical background: my grandfather was part of a 12-piece orchestra playing the piano, and my father support his way throughout college by playing the drums in a band. A musical background from my family, along with lessons in classical piano, voice lessons, to classical opera lessons, inspired my love for music. One of my favorite musical memories was opening up on the main stage of the Goo Goo Dolls.
So you’re active on social media and interact with your fans a lot, so they’re very important to you! How do you keep your fan interactions high, and what do your fans mean to you?
I am very interactive with my fans. I absolutely love my fans. They are not just fans. They are family; we are the Alicia G ARMY (AGARMY). I keep my fans' interaction high by bringing my fans along with me every step of the way, keeping a positive attitude high, and spreading positivity and smiles everywhere I go!
How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard it before?
My music has an upbeat, high-energy, country vibe with pop and hip-hop.
What’s next for Alicia G? Can we expect to hear more new music soon, and is there anything you want to say to your fans?
