Sacramento-based electronic music producer Annava dabbles in the world of melodic Garage House for his latest chilling single, "I Know."
For Annava, he's one of the lucky ones. He knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life since hearing deadmau5 at age 11. Now, the 22-year-old producer has several releases that travel through electronic subgenres like electronica, happy hardcore, electro-funk, J-pop, and even phonk.
His latest single, "I Know," introduces listeners to a softer side of Annava that explores the sounds of UK Garage, 90s jungle, DnB, and house. "Mostly, my music has no inherent sentimentality or meaning," explains Annava. "'I Know' became the exception when I chopped up some vocals I recorded for an unreleased track, and it became a reflection of the pain of leaving someone you are in love with.”
Hitting play on "I Know," the experience opens with sharp drum breaks that gradually lead into an even richer percussive breakdown alongside haunting vocal chops.
