Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Richard Sacilotto also known as ‘Beyond Tha Noize’. I was born and raised in the country town of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Western Australia but have recently moved to Melbourne, Victoria to further advance with my music.
Can you give us a brief history of your musical career?
My inspiration for music began from childhood. My father Adrian was also a DJ, so I would always find myself waking up to him mixing music every morning before school. On weekends, he would take me along to the nightclubs where he would play and I’d get to observe him do his sound checks before the nightclub would open. It didn’t really occur to me that I would develop a passion for DJing as such, but now I aspire to share my music to crowds all over the world.
How did you come up with your name? Is there a meaning behind it?
I began ‘Beyond Tha Noize’ as a project, and come to think of it, Beyond Tha Nozie is expressive to the focus of my dreams. To me, Beyond Tha Noize means going beyond the norm, doing what I love and following my passion. Being my own noise, in essence. I wanted to be something of my own and through DJing, Beyond Tha Noize has encouraged me to pursue my dreams. Along the way, hopefully inspiring others to also go beyond and be their own noise. It Pretty much came to me straight away when I was thinking about what this new project Beyond Tha Noize is all about.
The meaning behind it was to focus on my dreams, what I love, my passion and the direction I want to take with the music. So in a nutshell go Beyond Tha Noize.
Do you write your own music? Can you tell us a bit about your writing style?
In our apartment, we have our very own studio. The setup is fantastic. It allows Michael & I to write, mix and master all of our own tracks. We both love and are passionate for uplifting, feel-good dance music and follow the festival feels, so as you can imagine, the studio vibes are unbelievable.
We’re really into your new song City Lights! Can you tell us a bit about it?
We worked on this for about a month. It was more of a commercial radio play track. It’s funny because everyone thought we should have made the drop bigger, however we didn’t want that in the track. We couldn’t be happier with how it sounded then once we put the vocals on the track, it took it to the next level.
Where did the inspiration behind City Lights come from?
Once we moved into the city of Melbourne, it pretty much came to us straight away. Obviously touring in big cities and always being exposed to nightlife, especially of Melbourne, it’s so enticing and being out and about most nights we became inspired that way.
What are three things you’d love your fans to know about you?
I’m only an email away to answer any questions or give advice. I’m always happy
to help and share my knowledge. I’m that passionate about music that I work on something to do with music every single day without fail. I’m a massive sports fan I love Australian Rules Football (Geelong Cats) and NBA (LA Lakers).
Any upcoming shows? For someone who hasn’t seen you live yet, how would you describe your performance?
I’ll be on tour in India from January to February and will be playing in Kochi, Manipal, Hyderabad, Bangalore & Mumbai. At the moment, I’m also planning a USA tour to kickstart 2019, so it’s looking like I’ll have a lot more shows comping up in America. My shows are enticing. I absolutely love performing. I always aim to bring an amazing energy to my sets for a memorable performance. I love involving my crowds, so they should expect the unexpected.
What’s next for you?
Ending 2018 and continuing into next year, I have multiple originals, collaborations, remixes and tours coming up. I’m going to be very busy as I’m currently working on about 20 tracks so a lot of my time will be finishing off some huge hits! I will be so excited to share new music with everyone throughout 2019.
