BoBo Is Back And Feeling "Brand New"

Swedish up-and-coming pop artist and singer-songwriter BoBo brings listeners through life's peaks and valleys with his recent hit, "Brand New," from his new 6-track EP, Brand New.

Born in Germany and growing up in Falkenberg on the Swedish west coast, BoBo knew that a career in the music industry was an inner need. After relocating to a music university in London and topping it off with a Master's degree from the Royal College of Stockholm, BoBo firmly rooted himself in his musical craft and never looked back.

Back and better than ever, BoBo is ready to take listeners through themes of love, tension, attraction, heartbreak, loss, and reinventing yourself with his recent 6-track EP, Brand New. While blending genres like funk, 80s pop, and electronic, the project was "created out of really impactful moments in my life," says BoBo.

The EP's title track, "Brand New," might help listeners get to know what this project is all about. It's a radiant and passionate pop anthem that perfectly showcases BoBo's vibrant energy, catchy melodies, and infectious rhythms that keep our toes tapping. His lyrics are deeply passionate and heartfelt, yearning for someone to stay around and experience this love that's "Brand New."

Not only is this song the EP's title track, but it's the introductory track that perfectly sets the tone for the other 5 tracks to follow. It starts the EP with a bang and paves the way for BoBo to express even deeper, more vulnerable emotions on songs like "H.B.I.P" and "As a Friend."

What are you waiting for? Don't miss out on the rejuvenating and refreshing experience that is BoBo's new 6-track EP, Brand New, now available on all digital streaming platforms.

Welcome to BuzzMusic, BoBo. Congratulations on releasing your recent 6-track EP, Brand New. What inspired you to create this personal and reflective project?

Thank you so much! The inspiration comes from different “chapters" of the last 6 years of my life. Love, friendship, and basically admitting that life is a journey. As much as you think that you know who you are by a certain age, life proves to you 1 year later that you don’t know a thing about yourself. You make mistakes and phase consequences, but then you’re always left with the opportunity to learn and get better in all aspects of life - compassion, work, and love. How does the title track, "Brand New," represent what the EP is all about? How does this song help explain the project's concept and theme?

Brand New embodies the whole EP in terms of how love can bring out all the best sides of you at once. Being there for someone, becoming brave, taking risks, and just proving that you’re ready to compromise all that you are in order to spend time with this person you fell for. On top of it, you want the whole world to know about it! The concept is a story, the reality, and how things change. Nothing is guaranteed, and I think it’s really important to live in the present when you found someone you love. If you just worry or plan the future, you end up with this huge backlog of time that you used up on worry and planning but could have used to appreciate what you have right now.

What story or concept did you want to get across with the 6 tracks in Brand New? What did you want your audience to feel and take away?

I didn’t really have anything in mind for how I wanted it to come across. I think everybody shapes their own experience and focuses on their personal experience and how these songs might correspond to how they go through life. The only song I really had some sort of concept to bring across was Double King. To brag and be proud of who you are and chose to have as a partner. Show the world that you have their back and that you love this person, even if you are a rainbow man. You see. I experience that there’s a culture in some societies where men and women can talk freely about how gorgeous their partner is. On the other side of the coin, the moment someone from the LGBTQ+ community does that sort of braggy, charming approach to their partner, they can be hit by social setbacks. So the song is basically a rainbow-MANthem for all the guys out there who are tired of compromising their expression towards their partners.

Why did you choose these 6 specific songs for the Brand New EP out of the 13 songs you had? Do you plan on releasing the rest of the songs in another project?

These six songs are the ones I felt something extra strong for. Some made me deal with subjects in my past, others helped me to move on, to be proud of who I am, and also admit to myself that I can do better. I have so many unwritten songs ahead of me, so I’m not sure if the other 7 songs will ever be released. But there is, of course, a chance. Usually, in my writing process, I write a lot of songs, pick the best and release the ones that resonate with me in that period. Then I close that chapter and start a new writing process from a different place in my heart that is yet not healed. Songwriting is like a complete open-heart surgery for me.
