Hey Brett! Welcome to BuzzMusic! When did you first start making music? In what ways has your sound evolved over the years?
I literally started writing lyrics and Hooks when I was 8 Years Old and at that time I didn’t know I had the skill for it until I was A Teen. Me and My Cousin Recorded Our voices and instrumentals on a “Talkboy” from Home Alone 2 Lol! In 2006 I recorded My first Studio song with My Group, “The Artful Advocates!” My sound Evolved from A hip-hop background. I used to rap like I was in G-Unit lol. Then I eventually branched off into my own thing. I used to have my own gogo band which influenced the current sound I display now.
What can you tell us about your track “Main Jawn”? What do you hope your listeners take away from it?
Main Jawn Could easily be on the Billboards Top 40 All Across the World! But I know This industry is (in the words of Jay-Z) “Politics As Usual.” I’m from DC but I made a track that has a Cali Vibe and can be played anywhere you wanna have a Great time! It’s a Party Track for the Clubs, Lounges, Kickbacks, Day Parties, Pool Parties, etc.I hope my listeners take away the fact that I can switch to any style! Can exist in any realm of Music. You have to be able to be flexible when coming across an eclectic amount of music. I just have a knack for rhythms and grooves.
What’s the songwriting process like?
The songwriting process is A Rollercoaster lol. My emotion can determine A record. I like to Write outside the house and open my mind to a sunny day, clean air, and a Cool breeze! It’s more challenging to write in the winter time because it’s barely anything to do outside around that time because it’s cold. Sometimes I’ll write the ending of a song before the Beginning. I can start write a song in 2019 and won’t finish it until 2021. Not that I’m thinking about what to say for 2 yrs straight, but I could be working on 10 songs at one time...LITERALLY!!!
What have been some of your proudest or most memorable moments in music so far?
I’m all about Firsts!! Releasing my first Album “No Good Happens Before 12 Midnight”, Doing my first Music Video ever “U Ready” and My First Big Performance Ever was when I was an undercard for T.I. at The Anthem in Washington, D.C. Also the first time I put the Facepaint on Was a proud moment for me because it signified separation from mediocrity and an introduction to my own originality.
Does your creativity manifest itself in any other way?
All the Time! Whatever I want life to be, it becomes. I have a connection to the Universe that allows me to tap into my spirit to create my own matrix! A lot of things in this world don’t make sense which leads me to travel into other dimensions. I think deeper than the average person which often leads to Manifesting things in life that I thought I could never. I speak my own LIFE into existence. And everything you see from me, is everything I imagined and spoke of.
