Carolina Schott is a 17 year old singer songwriter who just like many of us, has a dream. Catch this cool moment! In summer of 2016 she was top 24 on “La Banda” a reality singing show on Univision!
Her latest release of “Away” shows off her passionate vocal skills along with her in depth lyricism that’s surfaced enough for her fans and listeners to interpret. The instrumental backtrack has a trendy, hip, and pop sound that makes this song a wildly marketable and potential of established and conventional listening. What I really love most about this song is when she sings the hook you can just feel the passion be conveyed and transported to our ears in a striking and piercingly passionate manner. “Away from this pain” she repeatedly sings which shows this song can be a reflection of any internal feelings that she’s dealing with and uses to her advantage to create substance with her music.
Music in my opinion with substantial lyricism and meanings are truly more effective to a listener than music without. It connects to a person emotions and we all enjoy listening to songs that can express feelings and thoughts difficult for us to express ourselves and Carolina Schott delivered that scapegoat to us! Check out her single “Away” and follow her on social media!

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
What’s up! I’m Carolina Schott an upcoming artist from Boston Massachusetts with a dream.
Can you give us a brief history of your musical career?
Even from a very young age, I remember singing and putting on shows for my family and friends. I would imagine that there were millions of people in the crowd and the brush in my hand was my golden mic. That’s when it all started. At 10 years old, I started taking singing lessons at my local Boys and Girls Club and would perform at all their events. From then on I began taking music seriously and would write my own lyrics with melodies that were in my head. I started looking online for shows and opportunities in my community that would allow me to perform and showcase my own music. Since then I have performed at Fenway Park, Spotify Headquarters in Cambridge, the Boys and Girls Club national conference in New Orleans, and through my high school - Boston Arts Academy, where I study classical voice. In the summer of 2016, I was in the top 24 as a contestant on La Banda, a competitive music reality show on Univision. Fast forward to 2018, I’m currently in the studio writing and producing my debut EP coming out in 2019.
How did you come up with your name? Is there a meaning behind it?
I decided to keep my original name, Carolina Schott. In Latin the meaning of the name Carolina represent strength and bravery. The reason why I kept it is because it represents both my Hispanic and European culture that I am very proud of.
Do you write your own music? Can you tell us a bit about your writing style?
I do write my own music and I think it is very important to do so. Writing for me is a way of expression and creativity. I write when I am feeling joyful, heartbroken, resentful, or even when I’m just feeling confused. Most of my writing happens at random times when I don’t expect It. It starts with a melody that plays on in my head, taking different turns, and then I speak what is on my mind. Once I record the melody in my voice memos, I go onto my notes and just write words that express the way I am feeling at the moment. To me and to many people I assume it feels therapeutic because you have a freedom to create anything without any limits.
Love your new song "Away" ! Can you tell us a bit about it?
“Away” is about separating yourself from a situation or person that has hurt you in the past. Love, as we all know can be difficult sometimes and when you are in a relationship it can be hard to take care of yourself and the other individual at the same time. Life itself can be a difficult task and hurtful because you don’t always get what you want. The lyrics talk about leaving for a moment and realizing that now is the time to go and face reality. Even though time will slowly heal everything.
Where did the inspiration behind "Away" come from?
The inspiration behind “Away” came from a moment in my life where I was feeling lonely and and could not come to a conclusion as to why I was feeling like that. During that time, I was occupied and so overwhelmed that I didn’t feel like myself. Until one day, I stop and stepped back to look at was happening and just wrote every single emotion out down on paper. That’s how “Away” was born.
What are three things you’d love your fans to know about you?
My all time inspirational idol has been the Mexican singer, Luis Miguel.
I am a fluent spanish speaker!
I can sing Opera which is pretty cool!
Any upcoming shows? For someone who hasn’t seen you live yet, how would you describe your Performance?
Most of my gigs are local shows around the area of Boston. When I am performing I like to have fun with the audience and feel connected to them. It is one big party that is meant to be entertaining and a moment to forget about all your problems.
