Welcome back to BuzzMusic K.Credle! What can you tell us about your EP “Lone Wolf 2, Pt. 1”? What does this project represent for you?
My album “Lone Wolf 2 Pt.1” represents an opportunity to speak my truth and be transparent about the constant battles that I deal with on the daily emotionally, physically and spiritually. The first third of the album is a testimony to how I’ve fought myself out of a dark space, mentally, and how my family and music supported me through that. In my record “On The Way” I urge my listeners to keep faith in difficult times, “Don’t die your up is on the way though. Hold on help is on the way bro, love you if you think no one else do”. The second part of the album is where I get to let my cockiness out and channel that inner confidence that was always there. My goal with this album was, not only to uplift my community, but people around the world that can relate and feel my authenticity through my lyrics. The last third of the project is me simply having fun and showing the other side of the darkness and that anyone can make it out. This album represents honesty, self-awareness, grit to fight through adversity and, most importantly, self-love.
It wasn’t long since we’ve last featured your music! How do you stay on track to create relevant content so consistently?
Being true to one's self is the only way I believe an artist can stay relevant. When you’re always honest with yourself and transparent with how you feel, people have no choice but to respect that.Supporters always want to know what’s going on with their favorite artists, so being an open book and telling my story is the only way to create relevant content. If I wasn't doing that, I would be creating another generic brand of music and it is our responsibility as artists to create genuine content.
Where is the best setting to listen to “Lone Wolf 2, Pt. 1”, and what do you hope people take away from it?
I wish there was one place that people could listen to the project. The beauty of it is that it is a vibe listening to it straight through with your homies and as individual tracks in various settings. For example, "Vibez" is a guaranteed turn up, while "Becker King" gives you pre-game motivation. There are songs on this album for everything; from working through your own thoughts to having a good time. I hope people see the light in this project. My goal is always to inspire someone and leave them in a better place than before they listened. If I can do that, then the long studio hours have been worth it.
In your opinion, what song on the EP “Lone Wolf 2, Pt. 1” has the most lyrical depth to it? What was the creation process like?
The record with the most lyrical depth would be “Live More”. The intent was to be as open and transparent as possible. Since dropping my first EP titled “Lone Wolf” back in April 2017, numerous life changing events have occurred. From graduating college in May 2017 to growing my team and the expansion of my family, this album is a long awaited testimony to the trials and tribulations that took part during that two year span. Two of the bars I felt the most while writing are, “When I graduated, kiss my ma I made it, sad mistaken six months of applying jobs wasn’t taking” and “I was homeless crying always blaming God”. Creating this record took tapping into a vulnerable headspace that, as a black man, we often have to ignore because of the weight of responsibility placed on us. I had to let people in and tell them what was going on with me because that’s the only way I could truly move on from any troubling situation.
What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward?
As an artist, it is easy to get caught up in the flash of fame, but for me my main priority is to continuously grow my platform, in order to speak my truth and inspire more people across the world. You never know whose life you could be saving. I want to reach as many people as possible and let them know that they are not alone in this fight. The larger my platform is, the more people I can inspire to share their story.
What other projects are you working on through the end of 2019?
Now that the album is out, my team and I have already begun to turn our focus towards creating visuals that bring the same quality energy that the project does. I’m glad I’ve had the opportunity for people to hear my story through my records, but now it’s time for the world to see what it looks like in Mr. Lone Wolf's head. We are also working to create and establish partnerships with local and small businesses that will, not only expand our platform, but also encourage others to do the same. Stay tuned, music videos coming soon!
