Welcome back to BuzzMusic Alex Kautz! What have you been up to since your last release of “Bad Habit”?

Thank you! Since I released the music video for Bad Habit, I've been hard at work finishing up the rest of my album!

Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your song “Chemical Kids”?

Great question, I go through phases of music the same way as phases in life. But I wrote Chemical Kids with Chris Shelton and his production ability is insane... he can be my "particular individual".

What are some of your ultimate goals as an artist? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on?

I want all of it and none of it can come soon enough. Trying to manifest a Grammy as we speak.

We absolutely love your latest release! What predominant message was integrated within "Bad Habits"? Can you tell us more about the concept of the music video?

Thanks! I wrote bad habit about a person but compared them to a Bad Habit. I thought if I did it this way my message would be more relatable. We all have Bad Habits... so that was my initial idea & it spiraled out of control from there!

You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into their lyrics than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within your most recent singles?

Not only do I put a lot of thought into my lyrics, but I write full-length essays about them in the blog section of my website. I do the most... always.

Thank you so much for talking with us about your new singles and creative process. Can you describe how your performances feel? Do you enjoy live shows, or do you prefer the actual songwriting process? Also, any live shows coming up in the near future?!

I don't have any live shows plan, but love performing live. Always looking for new opportunities.

What can we expect to see from you next as 2019 comes to an end?

Hopefully, I can get my EP finished! It's a lot of work, but hopefully, I get kudos for trying!
