Centershift Channels a Healthy Dose of Nostalgia for “Fade Away”

The LA-based collective is back and better than ever with another enticing release.

Los Angeles-based rock and alternative group Centershift is back and is making waves with the release of their highly anticipated debut album, “A Different Shade Of Color.”

Comprised of the talented Jasan Radford (formerly of Onesidezero) on vocals and guitar, Ryan Shane Stuber (ex-Shuvel) on guitar, Ted Wenri (ex-Bemus) on bass, and Stefan Storace on drums, Centershift has solidly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the highly competitive LA music scene.

Something that has quickly set Centershift apart from its peers is its ability and willingness to channel its musical abilities into philanthropy. After the release of “A Different Shade of Colour’, the band held multiple performances with proceeds going to different charities, including This Is Noteworthy (TIN), which provides mental health and physical health grants to creatives. Centershift is resolute in using their significant musical abilities to better the musical world for everyone, not just themselves.

“Fade Away,” one of the songs from “A Different Shade of Colour,” should be the perfect introduction for the uninitiated. Over mellow instrumentals that build up over time like a crashing wave, lyrics like “see all the damage that has been done” and “I just need some time to fade away” wash over you, evoking fleeting emotions that feel warm and familiar. Although “Fade Away” is one of the standouts from “A Different Shade of Colour,” the rest of the album definitely meets the high bar “Fade Away” has set and is definitely in the must-listen territory.

“Fade Away” is a mellow yet powerful demonstration of LA-based Centershift’s ability to fuse nostalgia with the modern. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream “Fade Away,” which is available on all major streaming platforms, and keep an eye out for their highly anticipated single “The Ride.”

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Centershift! We loved "Fade Away." could you take us through the creative process you went through creating this song?

Hey, thank you for having us! Fade Away is a Song I've had for a few years when I (Jasan) was in ONESIDEZERO. I never felt it was lyrically done story-wise until now.

Your album "A Different Shade of Colour" was released recently. What's your favorite song from that album besides "Fade Away," and what was your favorite part about seeing the vision for the album come to life?

I'd say "From Where We Are" or "Falling Into". These Songs were a later addition to the final Record and show where the band as a whole is growing.

What do you want fans to feel when they listen to your music?

We hope they get a feeling of relating, that we sometimes all feel or go through many of the same things in Life.

What kind of goals do you aim to achieve through your music?

We hope to be on the Road soon, as ONESIDEZERO has an extensive Touring History; the Road is calling!!!

What's next for Centershift? You mentioned you have some upcoming shows as well, right? Can fans expect to see new music soon?

Yes, we have finished our Sophomore Record with Producer Jose Alcantar, and it's due out in early 2024.
