Check Out Our Exclusive Interview With Full Bush

We had a chance to sit down with the bad ass band Full Bush, and interview them about their new music and upcoming shows.

Check out our recent review of their new song "Someone" here.

Care to introduce yourselves to our readers?

Adesola- Drums

Cassie- Bass, back up vocals

Jayne- Lead guitar, back up vocals

Kate- Lead vocals, rhythm guitar

How long have you all known each other? How did you meet?

We've know each other for about 2.5 years. Cassie put a call out to women who wanted to jam and Kate and Adesola answered. We hogged out for awhile until Adesola met Jayne at a new job in South Philly and hit it off immediately.

How has your music evolved since you first began playing music together a band?

We play a lot and try new things all the time which I believe helps keep us tight. Our lyrics that are representation of where we are.Recording was the catalyst to a lot of positive changes and made us trust each other and listen to each other more.

We absolutely love your new song! Can you tell us a bit about it and the writing process behind it?

Ray’s is the band’s first single and the lyrics are about a true local Philadelphia watering hole called “Ray’s Happy Birthday Bar,”--"It’s a ‘banger,’” says Cassie. It just gets toy pumped up. It's one of the first signs we worked on as a band. It's about just wanting to go to your fave hole in the wall to grab a drink after a fucked up day and some skeevy, gross dude bothers you and tries to make it worse.

Where did the inspiration behind this song come from?

Cassie wrote the song and says “A shitty day at work and anger towards my ex who rides mopeds”.

Do you prefer the digital or more traditional way (cd, lp etc) of getting your music to your fans, why?

We like both. Digital gets to a lot of people faster and makes us more accessible. CDs, LPs, and tapes will live forever after we are all gone. Nothing like holding the physical purchase in your hands.

Any upcoming shows in the near future? For a new fan who hasn’t seen you live yet, how would you describe your live performance?

We have 3 shows coming up.

-9/28 is a benefit concert at The Barbary to raise money for United We Dream.

-10/17 @ Ortlieb's

-10/30 Halloween Album release show at Johnny Brenda's with corey flood and Resilient.

Our shows are a moment to dance, rage, and have a cathartic moment. Definitely fun as fuck.

What’s next for the band?

We are working on our second album and planning a bunch of tours of the Spring/Summer.
