Care to introduce yourself?

I’m Martíze, an upcoming artist from Chicago. I’m 23 and have a project called “No New Friends” available on all streaming platforms.

We're completely in love with your new song. Can you tell us a bit about the song and the writing style behind it?

Well for my single “Calling On” I wanted to create a feel good song that’s could be translated by all age groups and races. I feel like this song represents happiness. I wanted to make people dance in their own way and just enjoy the natural vibe of this song. The song is about someone letting another person know that if you need me I’m here and I’ll always answer for you no matter what.

Where did the inspiration behind the song come from?

The inspiration came from multiple places, I was inspired by Drake’s 'Hotline Bling' and I was also inspired by the previous situations I’ve had in my young lifetime. Also, I just wanted to make people want to move again and let them know I can make a variety of music.

Let's get personal for a second! What are 3 things you would love your fans to know about you?

Well one thing is for sure, I love music as if it was my child. Music is legit my everything and I love everything about it. Two, I am a huge basketball fan, I’m from Chicago and I don’t rock with the bulls like that. Three, I’m working on two new projects right now called “FAME” & “CRWN”.

Any upcoming shows in the near future? For a new fan who hasn’t seen you live yet, how would you describe your live performance?

Shows are coming very soon. My shows are packed with energy, soulfulness and just great vibes. I want everyone to feel as if their at home when they come to one of my shows. It’s like a house warming at my shows.
