Eva Constance Has Us All Feeling A Little "Selfish"

The talented Chanteuse Green, professionally known as Eva Constance, has always had a burning passion for music. Reigning from Hartford, Connecticut, Eva Constance began her musical journey while singing in the church choir at the young age of six years old.

Gathering the knowledge that she retained from her experience in the choir, Eva Constance wrote her first song when she was 12 years old. It wasn't until 2018 that she had begun to construct a sound unique to her. When she released her first single in late 2018, she immediately took a step back because she deemed herself not quite ready for the music industry.

Taking the time off to reflect and learn new techniques to make her presence even more concrete, Eva Constance is back, and coming in hot with her debut single, “Selfish,” giving her listeners a taste of what’s in store for the up and coming artist.

Dabbling in the realms of Contemporary R&B and Pop, Eva Constance conveys a sultry vocal presentation as she dives into the deep desires that encourage her to be selfish towards the apple of her eye.

Tiptoeing around lively mid-tempo instrumentation, you’re instantly transported to a blissful utopia that has you floating upon cloud nine. The delicate essence that the passion emits has her emotion filled harmonies splashing a luxurious spirit all over the composition.

As her symphonic melodies cascade upon the divine energy that comes to Eva Constance in an effortless fashion, “Selfish,” has us submerged in the undeniable talents of this emerging artist.

Diving into a resonance that has charisma written all over it, Eva Constance is an emerging talent that you need to be on the lookout for.

With her flame for music being bigger than ever, we can’t wait to hear what she has in store for us next.

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Eva Constance! Congratulations on the release of your debut single, “Selfish.” With this being your re-introduction to the music industry, how do you feel being back and better than ever?

Hello! Thank you so much for having me. Thank you very much. I worked so hard to bring “Selfish” to life and make it sound the way I wanted to. My engineer and I gave everything we had to this track and I am happy people are actually enjoying it! As for being back in the music industry from a long break, I feel so grateful to be back! I had a lot of things I had to tighten up and work on. As an artist sometimes we forget that it is not just about the pretty videos, photos, etc. There is a lot of hard work that goes into being an artist and I felt that I had to rediscover that. Truly, I am so happy to be back though. I have lots of music to share and I cannot wait!

What moments or stories inspired the creation of, “Selfish?"

This song was created because I not only had a relationship that embodied this in the past, but I see there are other avenues in this song that inspired it. There are relationships that can be toxic to you because all you want is that person to yourself. Sometimes you do not do this intentionally and then there are some who do it intentionally. There can be thin lines between what is right and what is wrong sometimes in relationships and some cannot tell when that line has been crossed. On the other hand, there are instances where all that person wants is more attention from you. You may be giving your extra attention to other things and or people making the significant other not so significant, you know. It is all about balance. This song tells what it's like to engulf yourself a little too much into someone that all you want is them all the time, creating ripples in their other relationships so all they have is you left.

What musical and non-musical inspirations do you allow to influence your music?

Usually, for my inspirations, I grab them from my own experiences. I think that life made me go through certain things because I would have a platform to tell my story and inspire other people. I believe that no one goes through anything without a reason for it.

What was it like to record a single through the chaos of 2020? Were there any challenges that you had to overcome?

For me, I felt like through all the chaos it made me take a second to really chill and focus on what I wanted to say this year with my music, I am always on the go and never stop to really take a break. My parents told me during my early school years that I would run myself into the ground because of how many things I wanted to get involved in. As of today, I am still very busy, but I have learned to take breaks and this chaos this year really gave me the time and outlet to let out what I wanted to express. As for the challenges, I would say trying to maintain my money situation while attending school full-time and progressing on my music. This year has brought so many money issues for people, including myself, and it really has been hard but I take it one day at a time.

2020 has been a very challenging year for everyone. What has been keeping you inspired to create music? What advice can you give another artist who's finding it difficult to do so?

Goals have been the motivation for me. I have been up and down with music ever since I was young and now that I am on a platform that is strategic and strong, I can achieve my goals to the fullest without it seeming like it is impossible, as it was in the past. I take every day as a new day to create something better than I did yesterday. I want to achieve my dreams and past that using my goals, motivation, and belief that I can achieve them with or without a team! For those who are still struggling to find motivation and keep making art through their music during these tough times, I would say use these hard times that you are going through now to tell a story of your triumph and strength. Give the people something true that they can easily relate to so not only do you not feel alone, but they do not feel alone either.
