We recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Talia Perez to talk about her new song "West Coast".

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey! My name is Talia Perez, I'm 20 years old and I'm a Pop/EDM artist from Los Angeles, CA. I've been producing and writing my own original music for several years.

Tell us a bit about your new song and the writing style behind it.

My new song "West Coast" was written with the main concept being focused on summertime and the melodies are supporting the fun upbeat vibe. When I was writing the song I wanted it to be a bit of a pop crossover with electronic dance music intertwined together. During the writing and producing process of the song I added electronic synths, intricate beats, and lyrics that really paint a picture of what life is like living on the west coast.

Where did the inspiration behind the song come from?

The inspiration for the song came from all my beach adventures with my friends since I like go to the beach on the weekends. I wanted this song to capture the essence of summertime by the ocean, so I wrote about all my fun experiences hanging out with friends during the summer. This song is a bunch of sweet summer memories written to upbeat melodies. The song has a lot of my personality interwoven in the song since I'm very carefree, bubbly, and love having a fun time.

What are the top 3 things you would love your fans to know about you on the more personal side of things?

Top 3 things I would love my fans to know on about me on the personal side is that I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to making music, I can spend up to 6-8 months working on a single making sure it sounds flawless. Also, I tend to write music from a optimistic, purpose driven perspective since I'm very dedicated to accomplishing my goals/dreams. I'd love for my music to encourage others to pursue their dreams and goals too. I hope to be a positive role model in that sense. Music is such a huge platform to inspire others and I hope my music will continue to uplift & inspire others.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who hasn’t seen you live yet, how would you explain your live performance?

I am working on planning future shows, but my main focus right now is releasing more music so I have a solid set list to preform. My shows are very fun, full of energy, and always have a ton of dancing.
