Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is NKRIOT, and I am a electronic artist, label owner and developer of the genre

concept GOJI. GOJI is a hybrid of all electro, progressive house and rock genres put into one.

Recently I started my very own label XAR Records, who’s roster includes a number of unique

artists from different variations of the electronic realm that stem from the GOJI movement.

Tell us a bit about your new song and the writing style behind it.

My new song “Are You Ready?” is a neck-breaking, gritty, electro-house anthem. Fueled by the

energy and static of being in a festival crowd, I wrote “Are You Ready?” after actually watching

multiple live performances at this year’s EDC. I saw how the crowd moved to every drop, rise

and break. It was mesmerizing and the first thing I did when I returned back to LA was get to

Where did the inspiration behind the song come from?

Something I have always wanted to do is revive and modernize my favorite genre of music, the

electro-house-rock style of the early 2000’s. A lot of my inspiration for this track comes from

exactly that. I wanted to harness the intricate style of JUSTICE and pair that with the intensity of

MSTRKRFT’S gritty and raw beats. Really bring out the live element in electronic music.

What are the top 3 things you would love your fans to know about you on the more personal side of things?

Hahah, I never once thought I would be an electronic artist.

My favorite cartoons are Recess, Pinky & the Brain and all of One Saturday Morning. Lol

And my favorite color is blue.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who hasn’t seen you live yet, how would you explain your live performance?

Yes! Actually my label, XAR Records, is doing a month long residency at The Lovesong Bar in

downtown LA every Monday in September. Each Monday we will be featuring one of the artists

on the label, along with special guests and select DJ’s. I’ll be performing live at each one, and

you can expect a new set each time. My live sets are definitely something that always keeps

you on your feet, and if you haven’t seen one yet, we hope to see you in September.
