Following the release of her debut EP, Josephine Relli brings us a new, fresh summer tune that’s also digestible to listen through any season! "Blink Of An Eye" captures the motto every human should live by and that’s living in the moment and cherishing every day that passes. As Josephine herself says, it can all be gone in a blink of an eye! We’re convinced that Josephine Relli took meticulous time in creating this project. It’s categorized as “pop” but it has fun, electric sounds and extravagant space-like ticks to the song that makes it really stand out. Josephine Relli's voice is really beautiful and pleasant to listen too. It has such a strong texture and power to it so we’re positive that if Josephine wanted to show off her range in a more vocally crazy way, she can do it! What’s really cool about this song, is not just the obvious control in this artist voice, or the astonishing background instrumental that’s capturing our ears but it’s the message. The meaning of the song is something that needs to be delivered strongly to the general population. Life is too short, live it to to the fullest and best ability! Having a musical style that is somewhat out of the ordinary and a sound that is genuinely unique, Josephine Relli's songs are sure to stand out. If it’s not the intricate compositions or the lyrically capturing moments that she gives, it’s the richness that’s presented in her voice. She has a voice that’s mature and beyond years of her age considering she is only 17 years old. Check out ‘Blink of an Eye’ available on all streaming services including; Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, and more.
Our Exclusive BuzzMusic Interview with Josephine Relli. Get to know her and her inspiration behind her new single "Blink Of An Eye".
Hi Josephine! Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
The best introduction of myself I believe is through my music, but I am a lot of different things. I indulge in writing, producing, modeling, fashion, acting, reading, etc. I am a huge animal lover, and I'd like to say animals love me back; I even have my own little funny farm (4 dogs, 2 cats). I'll be honest in saying I'm a tad awkward, but you could say it's my charm. I'm 17 years old and continuously exploring as I work to grow in my artistry and myself.
Can you give us a brief history of your musical career?
As much of a cliche as it is, Music has been in my life from day one. I was given a chance to create an album, which is when I started diving into the world of songwriting and performing. Without that opportunity, I don't think I would have considered singing as a professional path in my life, and now it's my norm.
Do you write your own music? Can you tell us a bit about your writing style?
Yes, I write and produce all my own music now. Before my first album, I had never written a song before so that record was a collaborative effort with a producer. Since then I made the decision to work really hard, explore more of my sound and now I am able to write and produce everything.
"Blink Of An Eye" is a total hit! Can you tell us a bit about the song?
"Blink Of An Eye" is a really special song to me. I collaborated with producer Jack Kennedy on it, and he was able to help me take the song down a different route than I usually do, in order to branch out a bit and maybe reach a broader audience than I would have before.
Where did the inspiration behind "Blink Of An Eye come from?
My inspiration mainly came from my desire to explore a new genre a bit and to create a song that could transport you to summer, whatever that looks like to you. It's also a song to bring out motivation to make things happen before life goes by in the Blink Of An Eye.
Entering the music industry at such a young age and performing shows in front of hundreds of people, what's that like?
It can be a bit overwhelming at first, and it's definitely a lot more work than one might think, but overall I love it wholeheartedly. It's become something I don't think I could go without anymore. There's just something about performing a thing you created for others and connecting with them through that – that makes for an experience like no other. The music industry for me is like an ocean; I just want to dive in and get to work.
For someone who hasn't seen you perform live, what can they expect?
A good time. I'm a fairly awkward individual, so for sure there will be a few laughs here and there, but I just love to play and share my music, to meet others, and to create a fantastic experience.
What’s next for Josephine Relli?
So much! I have lots of plans for the future, for example, coming up I'm going to be focusing a lot more on sharing myself as a person and talking about more personal matters with others. I'll dive into things I've experienced and that are important to me to find other people to connect with and relate to through music. I have a few things planned for the holidays and the coming year, but I don't want to give too much away on that. :)
