Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Well I’m a part-time producer from the south of England. I’m a nerd through and through
so I make most of my music with a computer but I adore 80s and 90s rock.
Tell us a bit about your new song and the writing style behind it.
Sunryse is this really fun, bouncy, high energy summer song. I wanted to make
something very stripped back so I limited myself to just a couple of drum samples, a
basic pad and of course the steel drums when writing it. I got some chords and a beat
down then played around with the steel pans for about an hour until I was happy with
Where did the inspiration behind the song come from?
So the idea for Sunryse came about when I was away camping. I’m quite a light sleeper
when I’m not in my own bed so I often woke up before it was light and I’d watch the sun
rise. I wanted this to be a song that would get you pumped up and motivated for the day.
What are the top 3 things you would love your fans to know about you on the more personal side of things?
Ok, so 1; Everything I’ve made so far has been while I was studying at university. All of
my music is written in my spare time, I’m not a professional at all! Maybe that can inspire
someone out there to pursue something outside of their usual daily routine.
Number 2; I fucking love star wars (and Lord of the Rings)
3; I’ve had some difficulties with anxiety in the past so it’s a pretty big step to be pushing
this project forward!
Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who hasn’t seen you live yet,how would you explain your live performance
This actually follows on from the last question. I’ve never actually performed live before
(hence the anxiety). I am compiling a live set at the moment, might have to perform in
front of the cats first!
Thanks for your time
