Born and raised in California, Chris Franklin’s’ love of music began around the age of 4,
he began to like Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Jimmi Hendrix just to name a
few. By the time he was 10 years old, Chris began playing guitar. The result is Chris Franklin
who is a visual artist, poet and music composer. The genre of Franklin’s music is a cool blend of
alternative pop, electro funk and contemporary. He has been featured on various magazines
and he hopes to gain a following and be known as a producer and artist.
“Forget about it” is a heavily electronic track with vocals that are heavily autotuned. This
may be intriguing to a listener that isn’t involved with the electronic music community. The electro funk comes out on the track when it starts adding a bass line, though light, it is what gives the track its groove. The percussion also adds an extra layer of funkadelic electro sound which in itself is unique. Throughout the whole track the vocals are heavily auto tuned with distortion and almost similar to a robotic effect. A cool track for those just entering the electronic music world and for those who want to experience another genre. Hey Chris! Can you introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Chris Franklin and I am from Los Angeles, California.
We'd love to know more about the history of your musical career!
Well I started doing music back in 2012. So it's been 6 years now. I grew up a fan of music since I was very little I've been into playing the guitar since i was about 11 years old. And the synthesizer and other instruments.
How did you decide what you wanted your stage name to be?
The name came from me being a poetry writer. I've been into writing spoken word for over seven years so the name the poet fit me pretty good so I chose it as my alias as a music composer & producer.
Do you write your own music? Tell us a bit about your writing style!
Yes I write my own music and my writing style really is just me coming up with words that rhyme and what ever subject I want to talk about in my music. Sometime the lyrics come off the top of my head or I put some thought into it.
Where did the inspiration behind the song come from?
The inspiration behind my new song "Forget About It" came from me wanting to produce an electro funk composition. And writing about falling for an attractive girl and how women can sometimes lead you on and how you can easily get your heart broken. So I decided to have some fun with it.
I'm glad its been getting good reviews from music fans
What are three things you’d love your fans to know about you?
I appreciate the support, I always work hard to make the best music that I can, please stay tuned more good things are on the way.
