Hollywood Eyes, a new upcoming band from Cheshire just releases their debut song titled 'Wanna Be'. The song is a perfect end-of-summer bundle of joy that will give you all the feels.
The band consists of Ryan Pridding and Anthony Edes, who began making demos, before recruiting Arthur Jones and Chris Mee on bass and drums. It was only early this year the band formed so everything is still super fresh, new and exciting!
The concept around 'Wanna Be' is a bit cliche but the guys have done an amazingjob at implementing unique elements that drastically separate if from the 'cliche' category. The song is about being a wanna be, always aiming for something out of your league and never living true to who you naturally are. It's a song that gets you right in the feels because we've all been at the forefront wanting to be someone or something we're not in hopes that it will better who we are to the public eye. The lyrics and vocals are extremely bold throughout the entire song. From start to finish, the vocals pull you in deeper until you can't resist putting it on repeat. We're all about the songs we can connect with and this is definitely one of them. It's a definite song you want to add to your self-love playlist stat. If you're a fan of bands like The Dangerous Summer, Bastille and You Me At Six, you'll fall right in love with Hollywood Eyes.

We had the chance to sit down with Hollywood Eyes and talk to them about their latest release and the writing style behind it. Here's what they had to say:
Care to introduce yourself?
Okay so we are a 4-piece Pop/Indie band from Chester, England. The singer/guitarist is Ryan Pridding, second guitarist is Anthony Edes, drummer is Chris Mee and bassist is Arthur Jones.
Your new song 'Wanna Be' is a total summer jam. Can you tell us a bit about the song and the writing style behind it?
To be fair with Wanna be the writing process was fairly straight forward, everything just quickly slotted into place once that intro riff was written. We're not a band that tends to turn up with a guitar riff, then tries to force a song from it. With each song everything happens in a different order but with Wanna Be as soon as the first riff was written and then the catchy vocals on the chorus, we knew it was a keeper. But compared to our other songs this was written in such a short period of time.
Where did the inspiration behind the song come from?
As the song is blatantly about being a 'wanna be' we thought it would be an almost ironic topic for our first release and hopefully better things to come.
What are three things you'd love you fans to know about you?
3 things, okay first one, we found Chris (drummer) on the internet on what is basically tinder but for band members. Second, our singer has one line in the film 'Chicken Run'. And thirdly we never ever ever lie in these questions.
Any upcoming shows in the near future? How would you describe your live performance?
Upcoming shows, yeah as we're a new band we're taking on as many as we can, so recently we've had loads. But coming up soon we have a headline show at EBGBS in Liverpool on the 29th of September. We're also playing a small show in Prestatyn on the 18th. As for October, we're playing at Indie Week UK in Manchester, we're also performing on The George Greenaway Show's 36 hour radio marathon. But we do have some exciting support slots for some shows we can't announce at this point, obviously depending on when this is published it might have already been announced. How would we describe our live performance? In two words, fucking sexy. Ha!
