Interview With Singer And Fashion Designer Radmila Lolly

How is everything these days for you?

Thank you for having me. It is such a pleasure to be here with you. Things are going extremely well despite the pandemic. I’ve been blessed.

It would be interesting to know about your early life and how it shaped you into the person you are today?

I’m glad that you asked me that question. I’ve had a colorful and stimulating upbringing. My mother and grandmother certainly shaped my future from an early age. They offered me a different experience with a similar theme. My grandmother, who taught my mother, inspired me to design clothes and taught me the basics of making them as well. My mother inspired me to sing and compose music. I was then lucky enough to travel extensively as a teenager and live in different countries and continents. Life was not always easy but I learned to always persevere in the face of adversity.

Your songs have made it to the Billboard Dance charts. We want you to tell us about the hard work and efforts you put into your work to reach this point.

I’ve been very lucky to have had the motivation to work hard. Sometimes it seems that difficult circumstances make it impossible to concentrate and devote oneself to create or push oneself to their limits. I’ve always had an innate urge to go beyond what I believe my limits are, which has translated to today as well. I still take many music classes, for example. I enjoy bettering my craft and know that time is limited and am always pushing myself to improve.

What has been your biggest achievement as a singer?

Growing up I always wanted to sing at Carnegie Hall. When I was able to achieve that twice it gave me a sense of accomplishment at a relatively young age.

So, Radmila Lolly, we know that you are an amazing Fashion Designer as well. How did you start your journey as a fashion artist?

Well, as I previously mentioned my grandmother taught my mother about sewing and designing. My mother then taught and inspired me to learn the craft. From there I was lucky to be able to sketch designs rather quickly and often if I had a line that needed to be put together quickly. I enjoy designing to this day.

It surely would be difficult to manage both of your fields together. How do you manage to excel in both, as a singer and fashion designer simultaneously?

Time. I put a lot of effort into both crafts which demands a lot of my time. I really don’t see any other way to accomplish what is necessary without devoting a lot of work to each endeavor.

Everyone has a weak point in their lives when they are on the verge of giving up. Ms. Radmila, we want you to share one of your experiences with us and tell us what encouraged you to never give up throughout your journey.

I always remember that 24 hours can make a difference in my situation and state of mind.

Never give up, because all the time you’ve put in, will be wasted. When you start your race, you need to finish it off, don’t stop midway, no matter what, because how else can you win the race?

Being a resourceful artist and having such success in the industry for years now, what life lessons have you learned so far?

Never allow anyone to tell you what your path should be; dream, work, achieve!

Diva is one of the most ambitious projects. Details show that you have been working on it for 7 years. What is Diva and why is it so important for you?

DIVA is a novel album and I already have a book trailer. I will be shooting a short film next month based on the audiobook. The whole project takes place between 1928 and 1970. It’s very upbeat, nothing in the middle, like me...haha. It’s all about fictional characters. The project includes; a novel, a 27 movement album, short film, and couture line that corresponds with the novel’s storyline. I’m applying all my artistic mediums into one. That’s why it means so much to me. I can’t wait to release it to the world.

What are your future plans and where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?

The release of the DIVA novel, album, short film, couture collection is set to be released for 2022, with the grandiose show in Miami. From there I would like to get a residency show, based on the Diva storyline, around the world. One at the time of course:)

Your fashion line and songs have already inspired masses to look up to you and your work. Where can they get to know more about you?
