Kaci Brookz Talks About How He Evolved as an Artist With the Creation of His New Single "Steppin"

Hey Kaci, welcome to Buzz Music and thank you for being here. The music industry can be a tough shell to crack. How do you navigate the industry at such a young age?

Hi, great to be here. I’m not gonna lie, the struggles are crazy. It’s really about trying to get your music out there and heard, especially with so much competition in the industry. There are so many young artists doing big things at the moment, I just can’t wait to get my new material released, so people can hear how I am developing and what I can bring to the table.

Your music is strongly influenced by Trap and Hip-Hop music, while your vocal runs and riffs are reminiscent of R&B. With such an interesting style, what influenced the creation of such a dynamic sound in your new single "Steppin'"?

I try to take influences from a wide range of artists from 60’s Motown through to the present day, which is why my playlist includes Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder right through to current artists like Tory Lanez, Roddy Rich, D Smoke, Drake, J-Hus, to name a few.

This is probably why I believe the sound that I am creating is a unique mix of genres, which people have probably not heard before.

What does "Steppin'" mean to you? What do you hope your fans take away from listening to it?

Steppin was created at a time where I was experimenting with my sound. In my head, I knew that I was evolving as an artist, and I was already thinking about the bigger project that I had in mind. This was definitely an opportunity to see how I could grow. So this track was really my first experiment with blending genres. Steppin explains my hustle and my vision, where I see myself in the future and the kind of lifestyle that I want to be living. I want everyone to get a taste of my new sound and to get ready for what is coming next.
