What a powerful and stimulating intro track you've delivered with your recent hit, "History." Why did you want this track to open your EP 'Your Safest Place'? How does this song set the project's tone?

I opened with History because it has a very uplifting message within it, and that message is me saying that you should live the way you want to live and do the things that you want to do! Do what makes you truly happy. I feel like this is something I personally lost sight of over some years, so I wrote this song to get myself motivated about making music, and hopefully, it motivates and lifts people up so they can feel good about what they do. I feel like a lot of people out there really want to chase their dreams but they end up worrying too much about what people might think of them if they started something new, or they might be afraid of just going for it. History is a reminder that you don’t need to wait for someone's approval to do what you love, you should just do it because you love it! Even if it seems a little crazy at first, you’ll figure it all out as long as your heart is in it. History felt like the perfect way to begin the EP.

What message or concept did you want to get across to your audience with "History"? What did you want listeners to take away from your lyrics?

Just like I mentioned in the first question, it’s all about getting motivated and choosing how you want to live. It’s about overcoming the difficulties of life and finding your way through the tough times. It’s about finding that courage that’s going to get you through tough times and it’s about the people that help you get there.

Did you work with producer Brennan Kennedy for "History?"

Brennan Kennedy is my producer. Above that, he is also a close friend of mine. I write the songs, Brennan produces them! Brennan also played the drum parts on the EP, as well as the synth/piano parts. He is so talented, he’s a very underrated producer, and I am so lucky to have him be part of what I do!

How did he help bring your vision to life?

Brennan and I have a pretty similar taste in music. He and I both love Pop Punk music and we share a love for bands like State Champs, Billy Talent, The Band Camino, and lots of other bands similar to them. Because of our similar interest in music and the same sort of mindset it makes working together super easy! When we're at work in the studio Brennan brings lots of creative ideas to make the music even better! I give him a lot of creative control when mixing my music, and he knows exactly how to get every single part sounding great. Sometimes he will add little things in the music tastefully to make the music a little bit brighter! He’s got such a strong work ethic, and he’s super fun to perform with!

Could you tell us more about your debut EP, 'Your Safest Place'? How can listeners get to know you and your music better through this project?

My EP pretty much sets the tone of who I want to be as an artist, this is just the beginning. My lyrics describe a lot of emotions I feel deep down and I hope that as people listen, they can connect with the words and find their own meaning within them. Your Safest Place describes me as an artist, and it’s a message to everyone no matter who you are, or what you look like, or where you come from, that you always have a safe place with me! I hope I can give people an escape from life when they need it, and I also hope I can give people peace of mind about the hardships we encounter in our lives as human beings.

What's next for you?

Next up, I have a single that I’ll be releasing in a couple of months. I don’t have a date set yet, but I will have that figured out in a couple of weeks! I’m starting a plan to get my first music video done, and I am seeking collaborations. With the pandemic easing up a bit, I am looking to play live some live shows! I already played my first show a week into August and it was incredible and I want to keep that momentum going!
