Hi there, Linnéa! Welcome back! How has the music scene been treating you as a recently debuting artist? How has the overall experience been for you thus far?
It’s been great. I’ve been getting a lot of new followers and fans all over the world that supports me and my music. It’s an amazing feeling to reach out to people with my music. It’s all I ever wanted.
Congratulations on your release of "Romantic", coming shortly after the release of "I always knew". How do you feel the two tracks compare with one another? What have you learned since the release of both songs?
Thus far it seems like ’I always knew’ was a bigger hit than ’Romantic’. I don’t know why. People like ’Romantic’ too and I believe that the two songs are similar to one another but ’Romantic’ has more attitude and its sound reminds me of P!NK. I guess that’s the difference between the two.
Let's dive deeper into the meaning of "Romantic", and what it is you set out to accomplish following this particular release?
First of all, I wanted to give my listeners some new music. They’ve been waiting for it and I don’t want to leave them hanging. I’m so excited to finally get my music out there. ’Romantic’ is about loving and fighting for yourself and never give up, no matter how many times you fail. I’ve been through so many rough times in my life but giving up was just never an option. I’ve been told that I’m a bad musician, singer, and songwriter and that I should quit but I decided not to listen to that. You have to believe in yourself and show people that you can do whatever you set your mind to.
We've heard that you're preparing for your EP release, set to come this June! How has the process of creating this EP been for you thus far, and how do you feel it's been challenging you artistically? Can listeners expect a similar sound that was presented in "Romantic" and "I always knew"?
I wrote and recorded four songs in LA together with Greg Cortez and we decided to wrap them up as an EP with two acoustic versions. I love all tracks and they all have their differences but still a recognizing sound. I wanted to tell different stories and every song tells something new. I love that. It was a challenge for me to go to LA and finish this project. I had the best time of my life and I was so happy to be there. At the same time, coming all the way from Sweden to work with these successful people was intimidating. But they are so kind and always wants what’s best for me so now I feel confident and excited about it!
What can we expect to see from you throughout 2020?
Besides my EP I will release at least one more single that I recorded in The UK in December last year with Ian Barter and Darren Mills. They are so talented and I love working with them. I’m also working with two producers in Stockholm and hopefully, we’ll release some new music later this year. This summer I’m doing live shows with my band as well. Let me know if you want us for a gig! We’re excited to get out and play.
