Los Angeles-Based Artist Simone Make Dance Debut With “Take Me There”

Los Angeles based singer/songwriter, Simone, found her passion for music at an early age. Her influences include Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, Selena and her favorite Filipino artist, Regine Velasquez, who encouraged Simone’s decision to learn how to sing in Tagalog. Looking to forward her career as an artist, she began incorporating piano with her love for words, and since then, discovered a new path to music success.

August 2019, Simone released her debut dance track, “Take Me There,” written by herself and produced by Kevin Wild. With a bold and daring new sound, Simone expertly creates a pop-dance crossover hit with all the of her authentic charm fused into one. Out now and available on all major streaming platforms, “Take Me There” is an invigorating club vibe that energizes listeners out of their seats. Dance and groove along to Simone's powerful vocal register, addicting melodies hard-hitting bass and expert lyricism. Her whimsical love anthem “Take Me There” is sure to have any listener singing along to the infectious chorus. It’s hypnotizing and breathtaking all wrapped into one diverse soundscape. Simone’s vocal range and tone are finely-calibrated beyond our wildest dreams. I highly recommend you check out “Take Me There” and stay on the lookout for Simone.

Hey Simone! Welcome to BuzzMusic! How long have you been involved in the music industry? How did you get started?

Thank You! I am happy to be a part of the BuzzMusic Community. My mother introduced me to the music/entertainment world at a young age. I grew up watching her perform on stage, sometimes, bringing me on stage with her. She was really the one who inspired me to want to follow in her footsteps. It was ten years of voice and piano lessons, performing at local open mics and events, auditioning for singing competitions, navigating my way through producers, managers, talent agents, that has led me to where I am today. It wasn’t until this year that I found someone who was willing to invest in me and help me develop my craft. Together we have been creating music that I can finally say I love, and with these songs, I am looking forward to paving my way into the music industry as a thriving artist.

We love your debut track “Take Me There”!! Can you tell us the meaning behind the lyrics and what you hope your fans take away from this song?

Take Me There was written from a personal experience, of course. Growing up I was always skeptical of relationships and the expectations of being in a relationship, and I think that derived from my father telling me to never depend on a man all my life. In a sense, that became a standard I held for myself, to always put myself and my dreams first before anyone or anything. Now that I’m older, and I’ve found that comfort being on my own, I can say that I am ready and mature enough to finally explore that option. Take Me There is my expression of curiousness towards love and what it might be like to let someone in for the first time. I’ve never fully dedicated myself to someone, and that’s ok. I feel like society has made it a norm to have to be in a relationship, to have to be married at a certain age, and that’s not always the right way for everyone. Don’t conform just, because everyone is doing it. Do what you think is best for you, what will help you grow closer to becoming the best version of yourself. If being in a relationship helps you grow as a person, amazing go for it, if it’s focusing on finding who you are on your own, then that’s amazing too. Only you know what is right for you!

From an artist's perspective, what’s your favorite part of “Take Me There”? Why?

There’s not one specific part that I favor more. If anything, I favor the whole process of how this song came about. Take Me There was the first song I wrote that was completely raw and straightforward lyrically. When I approach a song, I am usually obsessed with metaphors, really making it riddle-like just to see how the audience would interpret it; that’s always fun. But I remember sitting down on my piano and just surrendering to my emotions the day I wrote this song. I wrote whatever came to mind in that moment, and not once did I overthink a word or sentence, which is usually all I do. From the verses to the hook to the chorus, it was such a rare, effortless write for me, and that is what made this release so special!

Do you have any upcoming events you’d like to tell our readers about?

Yes, I am currently planning my next Single Release, and I am so excited. A release date has yet to be determined, but I will be announcing it very soon on all social media platforms so stay tuned!

What’s next for you, Simone?

There’s nothing worse than shelving your craft out of fear, the fear of it not being good enough, the fear of others’ opinions, even the fear of not meeting your own expectations when you do take that risk. I have been working really hard to make music I am proud of, and now that I have accomplished that, my next step is fearlessly releasing them one by one. As long as I do my part, I know the universe will take care of the rest!
