Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

My name is Lynx, I'm a 3x award nominated DJ & music producer from Copenhagen, Denmark.

I’ve spend my whole life working on music, playing gigs and discovering new genres and I love seeing people be moved by music they didn’t knew existed. I’ve had the pleasure to work some really cool artists on my way such as 90’s icon Haddaway, multi grammy nominated singer and songwriter “GC“ (Shaggy, Major Lazer, Showtek) and many more.I love working with other people on my music because nobody hears the same thing, and often the magic happens when you combine several minds and boil it down to a strong hot sauce. Much like food.

Tell us a bit about your new song ‘Please Forgive Me’ ft. Jeremy Carr and the writing style behind it

Please Forgive Me actually came out of the blue. The song itself is written by Jeremy Carr in New York. It was send to me by the same guy who kind of discovered MØ (Diplo, Major Lazer), and I instantly liked it. I then changed the way it was build to fit my production, made a drop using Jeremys vocal which makes the sound very unique. The drop is something that I'm actually proud of and I really love the way it turned out. Obviously the idea is not new, but the way I did it, cutting and reversing the vocal without pitching it into the sky making it sound like a chipmunk, makes it really cool and it doesn’t sound like anybody else.

Where did the inspiration behind the song come from?

Since Jeremy wrote the song lyrics I can only speak for the production and the song as a whole.

The inspiration for sound of the track is a mix of lots of different things. The song itself is a pretty straight forward pop song, so I intentionally made the sound not far away from what you would hear on the radio. The drop is something different though. As I just talked about above, I wanted it to sound different to add something unique to the track. The inspiration for the technic I used is actually taken from something called “Chopped N’ Screwed* which developed in the early 90’s hiphop around Houston, Texas. This is probably how it would sound in 2018.

What are the top 3 things you would love your fans to know about you on the more personal side of things?

Fun fact 1. I’m a workaholic. I could literally work 24/7. Sometimes it’s a really good thing, because I get up and get things done. Sometimes it just kills me. It’s a balance in the force you need to master young padawan. Fun fact 2. Low key I’m a huge Star Wars fan. Fun fact 3.

As much as I love DJ’ing at parties, being the center of attention and creating the vibe for everybody - I actually dislike being the guest.

Do you have any upcoming shows? For someone who hasn’t seen you live yet, how would you explain your live performance?

I play club gigs all the time in Denmark, but I haven’t been in the US yet. I would love to though!

My dj sets are filled with energy and good vibes. I never prepare a set because you’ll never know what to expect and how people will react. I’m afraid that a prepared dj set will lock your mind to that playlist and if the first songs doesn’t work as expected, you’re giving yourself a hard time and stressing through your set trying to please the crowd. Whereas when 100% improvising, you get the freedom in your mind to actually feel the vibe, reading peoples reactions and creating an experience for the crowd. So basically people can expect lots of energy and something different every time.
