Hey Masha! Welcome to BuzzMusic! How did you get started in the music industry?
"Hey! Thank you very much for having me! I started off when I was six, when I began taking piano lessons and that led me to my passion for music. When I was about 11, I started writing and composing my own music and from there I began performing at local shows which has brought me to where I am now! "
Was there a specific event/person in your life that made you get into music/ start recording your material?
"A huge impact on me when it comes to my music has been my dad. My parents have been beyond supporting with my music and my career, but my dad has truly had a great impact. My dad was in a band when he was younger and his love for music inspired me to pursue it and to really push myself everyday! He’s helped me develop as an artist and has given me lots of amazing guidance throughout the years."
Who are you musical influences and how do they help shape your sound?
"There are so many artists who I really look up to and who have influenced me so much. Certain artists such as Etta James, Nina Simone, Adele, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Sam Smith have really inspired me growing up and to this day. Their music speaks for itself as these are some truly talented artists. I definitely believe that listening to these artists religiously has shaped my sound in a way that they’ve taught me to express my emotions and feelings through my music, and that’s exactly what music is- an artistic outlet. "
What does “You Make Me” mean to you? What do you want your listeners to take away from it?
"You Make Me is essentially a song about infatuation, and being so infatuated with somebody that you lose yourself a little bit in the process. I can definitely say that this song is very personal to me in a way that everything I’m singing and speaking of, has been something that I’ve felt. But I think the biggest thing to take away from this song is that people can be confusing with what they want, and sometimes misleading; and its important to know what you want for yourself and to make it very clear. "
Can we have any hint at a release date for your upcoming album?
"That's a very good question… there is an album in the works right now and it's been a lot of hard work to get all my tracks produced but there is no definite or set date for the upcoming album. But make sure to stay tuned cause lots is coming! "
