Mr. Streetz’s “Rags To Riches” Is A Masterclass In The Art Of The Grind

The East London rapper continues to hustle his way to the top. Mr. Streetz, an East London rapper who has taken the UK rap scene by storm, is gearing up to release his highly-anticipated sophomore LP, 'Wins & Bosses.'

Having already tasted success after releasing numerous singles, EP’s and his debut album, Mr. Streetz is set to continue his reign as one of the most exciting and engaging artists in the UK rap scene with his new lead single “Rags To Riches.”

Never one to shy away from his musical roots, Streetz describes “Wins & Bosses” as a tribute to the generation who grew up in the late 1990s and early 2000s and dreamed of living the life of gangsters they idolized in movies. His sound is pure in that his lyrics are raw and honest, and his music reflects the realities of life on the streets. It’s a celebration of the hustle, overcoming adversity, and the bumps and challenges life throws our way.

“Rags to Riches” is a firsthand example of Mr. Streetz’s creative and artistic versatility and talent. Over gritty instrumentals reminiscent of Rag’n’Bone Man, Mr. Streetz showcases his unique style and approach to storytelling, spitting bars one moment and soulfully singing the chorus on the next.

Throughout the entire song, Streetz’s charisma and hunger are palpable, dropping lines like “I used to clothe myself with rags / Silk now that I’m rich.” From beginning to end, Streetz’s talent is obvious and we can’t wait to see how far he’s gonna take it.

For fans of UK rap, “Rags to Riches” is the perfect introduction to Mr. Streetz's unique and captivating style. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream “Rags to Riches,” available now on all major streaming platforms.

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Mr. Streetz. We loved “Rags to Riches.” Your drive and hustle shone through! We have to ask, what drives you to make music?

My passion for music is my main drive, and nobody knows when they will never be able to be heard again, so I think it’s important to say as much as you can before you don’t have the chance.

You mentioned that your new album “Wins & Bosses” (out February 24th) is a tribute to the generation who grew up watching and idolizing the movie bosses who made it from the bottom. We have to ask, how did those movies influence you as an artist, and what is your favorite gangster movie?

I loved all the gangster movies, and because I didn’t grow up heavily involved with that life, it gave me the ability to be creative to imagine what it would be like if I did. My absolute favorite movie of all time is “Goodfella.” I must have seen it 500 times.

How did you develop the vision for the music video for “Rags to Riches?"

I wanted to keep the video relatively simple, highlighting that with hard work, you are able to obtain nice things, cars, clothes etc., but also staying humble and grounded, as shown at the end of the video when I’m sitting in the dirt.

If you share one message with your fans, what would it be?

It would be a quote from the song,

“It’s taken hard work and perseverance I’ve come miles from inches

That get-up-and-go attitude will drive you. Got no time for winges

It’s now or never pushing myself to be better became more vicious

If it takes days, weeks or years

From the rags to the riches”

What’s next for Mr. Streetz? Any big plans for the rest of the year?

So much going on. I’m working on my next studio album, which I hope to be ready later this year—more information will come soon.
