NEW MUSIC RADAR: Nic D Drops Brand New Hit, “Real Life”

Writer: BUZZ LABUZZ LA

Nic D also known as “The Gardener" is planting his seeds of inspirational and thought-provoking messages by combining his clever lyrics with a mainstream sound. Though his main audience is in the states, his impact doesn’t end there. He is quickly growing fanbases across Europe and Brazil. He has quickly gained 500,000+ plays across Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. Nic writes all of his lyrics but, his creative vision isn’t limited to music. He also directs and edits all of his music videos and edits all of his social media and marketing photos.

The opening moments of Nic D’s latest track “Real Life” lays out a certain type of gentle scene, Nic’s vocals bring melody and an easy-going, descending pattern that suits the entrancing calm of the soundscape. Contrast rules here, those melodic moments are hypnotic, you walk away humming that tune, and the consistent groove of the track offers an equally lingering effect that’s well-received. Nic D knows how to write something that sticks with you. While this release eans towards catchy urban-pop with a fairly vintage twist in some respects, the ultimate effect is that it leaves its mark with you indefinitely, a true sign of an effective songwriter.

What can you tell us about your brand new track “Real Life”?

You can learn all you need to know about “Real Life” just by reading the lyrics of the chorus:

“Tell me what it feels like,

When you get that thing in real life

Is it really want you wanted?

Or just another thing you didn’t like

Go and add it to the list then

Get it out of your system

It’s just part of the addiction

For everything you think's missin’

Can your fans expect a new music video to match?

This year I have been putting out a single with a music video every 2 weeks. For the “Real Life” music video I had fans submit footage of themselves dancing and singing to the song. I wanted the people who support me to have an opportunity to be creative and create something with me. The result was something very organic and special for me.

What do you hope your listeners take away from your music?

Whether people listen to my music on a regular basis or are just hearing it for the first time, I always hope they pay attention to the lyrics. I put a lot of energy and thought into what i say in my songs. I strive to always have a message or a piece of knowledge that I believe to be true.

Other than making music, how else does your creativity manifest?

I own a photography and cinematography company so, I’m constantly creating. I edit all of my own music videos and take part in the directing process as well.

Do you have any events or shows happening you’d like to talk about?

I have a show coming up on November 8th in Culpeper, Virginia. It’s a very intimate venue and there will only be about 65-70 tickets available.
