This fairly new Hip Hop artist and songwriter goes by the name of Olivr. Sitting at the age of 22, this New York native is bringing his own thing to this music world. He currently has 3 songs out now; What I’ve Become (2018), Potion (2019) and his latest single Black Heart. Olivr’s background in music has helped to cultivate him and connect spiritually on another level. There’s something unique and passionate about Olivr’s style of music. Bringing his own flare in lyricism, within the production of the music, and even the melodies. There is something that is very distinct that Olivr brings to the table that isn’t like anyone else. The first thing I love to cover is the cover art. An artist that takes the time out to really hit every detail is dope to me. The art is poppy moody yet simple. It gives you a visual that makes you wonder what more is there or what will the song be about. Even with the background treatment how it is slightly faded and only on the left side. So cool! Now the song begins. I love the intro-beat or the first 20 seconds. It gives some cultural sounds which remind me heavily of Indian sounds. Very enticing sounds. I also love the lyricism. Olivr really has something here and his sound truly is one of his own. I love that this artist writes his own music as well. That really can carry an artist a long way especially as an independent artist.

Hey Olivr! Tell us a bit about yourself and where you're from!
My name is Olivr, I’m a hip hop artist/singer/songwriter from New York. I’ve been involved in music for quite some time. I spend most of my time in my studio or working with my manager/producer Daniel Scott’s studio. There’s nothing I’d rather be doing than making music. I’m very passionate about my craft.
What is the background on your artist name? How did you choose your name?
Throughout my high school years, I had transferred to a new school in Junior Year. When I showed up to my new town.. I met one of my greatest friends and he gave me the nickname “Oliver” because my real name is Ali. He liked Oliver better. When I was creating my stagename I decided to cut the “e” to make it cooler. Thats how I ended up with “Olivr”
Your new single is a vibe! Can you give us some insight to the track “Black Heart”?
Black heart is a very special song to me for many reasons. It has these dark but fierce acoustic guitar cords mixed with powerful synths. Once Daniel Scott produced the record and presented it to me.. I knew it was a smash! It all came so natural when we started to write it. We knew this was the start to something wonderful.
Tell us about the writing process of "Black Heart" and what the production process was like
I wrote the song with my producer/manager Daniel Scott. I reflected on my past when I was at rock bottom. When I had no one supporting my dream, craft or aspirations. It turned me into a colder person having a black heart. Later in life I started to get out of that rut. I’m in a much better place in life and I’m grateful for my family, friends and supporters of my music. I love y’all.

What's next for you?
I have a new single coming out this June with one of my closest friends! He’s also the first artist to feature with me. His name is toocursed. He’s only 17 years old. The record is called “Downsize” It’s produced by Daniel Scott and mixed by Michael Ashby(Cardi B, Migos, Fetty Wap, Latoya Jackson) My only 2 records I’ve released have been solo. So a feature is something I’ve been really wanting to do
