Congratulations on the release of the poignant single, “TRYIN’.” What does this song mean to you? What are you hoping that listeners take away from it?

I’m admitting that I know the troubles I’ve been putting her through and the damage that I’m causing, knowing that she’s giving the best of her. We often love the wrong way by letting our old emotions get the best of us.

The second verse is about the insecurities and fear of losing that one person, the thought of losing them to all the options they have because you’ll always find someone who’s gonna love you better, someone who will treat you better, and someone will always be better.

Could you please share a glimpse of what the creative/recording process looked like when bringing, “TRYIN’,” to life?

I get inspired by my own personal experience so if I haven’t experienced it, I won’t sing about it. I usually find the perfect beat and play it over and over just to get the right melody. When the melody makes me feel the right emotions then I start writing.

As you explore different creative avenues as an artist, is there a part of the creative process that you enjoy the most?

I enjoy not knowing where the song is going to take me. I enjoy living the same things twice in order to feel the emotions I once felt and share them with my audience

What are the top three things that you need in order to have a successful writing session?

Embracing vulnerability, being emotionally present, the feeling between pain and lust.

What would you like listeners to know about you and the music that you create?

I want them to understand that not every song is going to be relatable. I want them to know that it’s okay to feel lost and confused, to feel pain and not knowing how to love. I want them to know that being vulnerable is part of the journey. I want them to know that I’m just a man trying to be emotionally free.
