Pet Envy Releases Catchy New Tune & Music Video "Middleman"
Pet Envy is a pop-rock quintet based in Nashville, TN consisting of Shelbi Albert
(vocals), Jake Diggity (vocals, guitar), Emma Lambiase (vocals, bass), Jordan Klatt (keys,
synth), and Matthew Singler (drums). Established in 2015, the band is building a loyal fanbase
through fun and inclusive live performances. The band’s influences range from Prince, Talking
Heads and Motown which allows Pet Envy to bring something unique to the indie rock sphere
with their sound being at an intersection of pop and new wave. Pet Envy is easily enjoyable on
anyone’s playlist but especially if you are a fan of MGMT, Empire of the Sun, Fitz and
wTantrums, and Foster the People just to name a few.

Compared to their EPs released between 2016 and 2017, the band finds themselves in a
darker and more definitive indie rock space than their previous releases on “Middleman”. The
new single represents a shift for the band towards a co-lead three part harmony vocal dynamic
between Diggity, Albert and Lambiase. The mood is ambient, while having a great beat and
groove similar to that of the angsty sound of The Neighborhood. Diggity for the first time has
lead on vocals, and Lambiase introduces her voice, both previously singing background or call
and response with Albert, Pet Envy’s captain of vocal gymnastics. To achieve this sonic evolution, the band took a more collaborative approach to songwriting and employed a top studio team: their co-producer Joshua Reynolds (Little Big Town, Dancing on Tables) and was
mastered by Nathan Dantzler (Ellie Goulding, Niall Horan).
Overall, a solid tune that we're going to keep on our playlist for a long while!
