our friendly neighborhood Chicagoan, Prophetic Poet is an aspiring artist that has an unconditional love for music. A teenager, Prophetic Poet took pen to paper and penned the lines of his very first rap song.
Taking a seat at the desk, he let the words pour out of his mind and filled the once white, bare page. It was at that moment that he felt the fuel for the fire that would never die, he knew without a doubt that he had the unmistakable talent it takes to make a mark on the music industry.
Pressing play on "Don't Tweak," Prophetic Poet gets us out of our seats with his club energy while memorizing us by his catchy wordplay. Prophetic Poet glides over the trap beat effortlessly as he raps about a woman with whom he doesn't want to act out of character or do anything to turn her away.
As we slide into the second verse Prophetic Poet takes no prisoners, speaking about his life in the hood surrounded by tempting women and violence, striving to come out on top. Fierce and intimidating, he clarifies that he's not one to toy with.
"Don't Tweak" is a stone-cold banger and a hustler's anthem, and Prophetic Poet's expert delivery keeps us on our seats, begging for more. Stream "Don't Teak" on all platforms today.
Welcome to BuzzMusic, Prophetic Poet, and congratulations on your latest release "Don't Tweak." What was your main inspiration for it and how did it come about? The main inspiration for the song “Don’t Tweak” was really the notion of not allowing anyone to play with you cause in life we always come across someone who believes that they can either talk to us in any kind of way or treat us any type of way it’s like an immediate defensive shield anytime someone tries to tweak you tell them hey “Don’t Tweak”
With your crazy amount of wordplay in "Don't Tweak" what were your most challenging when creating this record? The most challenging thing about creating the record was the direction of where the song would be taken in the beginning I didn’t know exactly how I was going to come on the song, the flow, the energy, or anything like that it was different from songs I made originally. But I didn’t back out of the challenge of creating something different.
As a rapper entering the male-dominated industry what can you tell us about what you've learned over time and how it has changed your perspective on certain things? With entering the industry I can tell you that I have learned a whole new meaning of consistency to be the best at whatever it is that you want to do in life you have to be consistent it’s the key component for everything to work it changed my perspective where I can say that I really understand what a lot of my favorite artist goes through when it comes to being in this industry you gotta keep at it and master your craft if you want to be the best.
"Don't Tweak" brings across a very upbeat and fast-paced moment that we cannot get enough of. Have you ever thought about branching out and trying other genres? If yes, which genre and why? I’ve always thought about branching out into different genres my goal as an artist is to be as versatile as I can possibly be with my music I wouldn’t want to be marginalized in one genre of music a lot of music in my catalog ranges from different genres I feel that it really helps the longevity of an artist being able to create different styles of music because music is universal it’s not just one sound.
What's next for you?
What’s next for me is continuing to brand myself getting the name of “Prophetic Poet” everywhere into the masses to establish my own core fanbase that’ll grow with me on this journey I’m in with making my staple as a musician being able to really touch people with my music and have it travel the test of time.
