Randay is a pop dance artist and gifted songwriter from Montréal, Quebec. After playing numerous shows throughout Montreal, Randay gained an even larger fan base when two singles from his debut album “Renaissance”, were played on a popular local radio station. With a slew of singles out now, including “Manipulation”, “Skin”, and the recently released, “Otherwise”, Randay is currently in the studio working on his follow-up record, which promises a new sound, and of course more dancing.
We checked out Randay’s incredible new single “Otherwise”, fans of original EDM and pop-dance fusion will likely be drawn to this track. We find it blissfully easy to escape within. “Otherwise” keeps the traditional dance vibes pulsating in a provocative and energizing way, while also creatively incorporating Randay’s flawless vocals and experimental synth sounds that help build something refreshing and powerful. “Otherwise” focuses on the frustrations of being single and living in the dating world. The theme is to switch your energy to focus on improving yourself. The motivational and empowering aspect is superb, and the louder you listen, the greater the effect.

Hey Randay! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you tell us about your upbringing? How did you get started in music?
Hey BuzzMusic! So basically, I started singing since I was a baby. I started in church choirs, and school choirs, became a model for 2 years, but my heart always belonged to music, so left the modeling world to focus on that. I'd always write songs when I was a kid, come up with melodies, but it was really when my parents once bought an old organ from a garage sale, they put it in the basement, then one day I'd always go to the organ and start fooling around on there, and divulging into melodies. From there on, my parents knew I was musically involved, and that was the door that opened.
Can you dive into details about the lyricism in “Otherwise”? What inspired this song?
'Otherwise' is a song that's so special me, I wrote this song because of rejection. Being rejected from people that didn't want to really know me for who I was or what I was about made me feel like I didn't know my place, or who I was, or losing my identity. After some time of finding myself, and regaining confidence, and loving who I was inside and out, I was able to be inspired to write a new anthem, an anthem for the ones who've been rejected before, it;s about not forgetting who you, and taking all that time given to those who don't want you, back to yourself. Don't forget your identity or who you are because it's so easy to feel lost. This song has a great message in it, but you can also throw your hands up in the air to it!
Where is the best setting to listen to your songs, and what do you hope people take away from them?
The best setting to listen to my songs are when you are at a party, or having girls night, or night with the boys, you can listen to my songs in your underwear dancing around your room, or getting ready before a night out, or when you're alone and just want to disappear with the music, at least that's why I do with my headphones all the time. My music is for everyone, all ages, no matter who you are, whether you're in love, want to party, feeling hurt, a breakup, feeling sexy, or just feeling fine, with these different messages in these songs, hopefully people can connect to it, and just find themselves in these tracks.
What are the main values you want to bring to the music world?
I think what I want to bring to the music world as an artist is positivity and light. We live in such a dark world, where sympathy and love is non-existent, so by showing love and compassion with my fans, I want us to be a team of light and positivity to look out for one another, love eachother, and care for eachother. If ever you feel neglected, or alone, you don't ever have to feel that way, because on Team Randay, it's nothing but love.
What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward?
I've just put out my new single 'Otherwise', so i'm very excited about how everything will turn out, I will be shooting a video for that very soon, and also have been working on a lot of new music to follow suit, my fans have been so patient, so i'm ready to deliver, and deliver something that I am proud of, a fun pop record. I wish to continue to evolve as an emerging artist, learn what I need to learn, anything to make myself even more happier, and of course do it for my amazing fans.
