Writer's picture: BUZZ LABUZZ LA

Back at it again, JSPH is a singer/songwriter originally from Kentucky. He consistently delivers hit after hit including the notable “Breathe” and previously featured on BuzzMusic, “Confidence”. His singles has accumulated over 4 million streams collectively on Spoitfy. JSPH’s progressive R&B style has his fans always returning for more.

Brand new track “Love Like This” features JSPH’s incredible vocals and range that he’s known for. His emotional energy and soul-filled lyrics come through the speakers and blow me away. The song was produced by DJ Corbett who's also from JSPH's hometown in Kentucky and recently done production for Nipsey Hussle, G-Eazy and Bebe Rehxa. Reminiscent and timeless, the upbeat R&B sound arrangements take this song to an ultra level. “Love Like This” is about exploring a new kind of life-altering love, JSPH releazes that this is a rare occurace and he values something that will last. He highlights the barriers that need to be broken down before someone can be true and vulnerable within a relationship. JSPH sings, “You know it’s on you what you want to believe” as if to tell this girl that her thoughts and fears are being created by her own mind. “You’ve never had love like this, I can see you holding back”, this lyric further proves the hesitance towards a raw and vulnerable relationship. JSPH vocals are emotionally-rich and smooth. His fowing  tone is addicting and intoxicating. Overall “Love Like This” is an incredible new release from JSPH. I highly recommend you check it out and stay on the lookout for more from JSPH.

Hi JSPH! What’s the meaning behind “Love Like This”? What inspired you to write it?

Living in an era of instant gratification I wanted to shed light on a different kind of selfless, lasting love. I was taking a social media break when I co-wrote this track with DJ Corbett. There’s a lot of things that are called “love” that aren’t and once someone experiences the the real thing it’s life-altering.

How do you feed your passion for music daily?

I try to always remain aware of my surroundings because there is inspiration around us constantly if we slow down and listen. Morning prayer, meditation & working out are all things that help me focus and get into a creative space.

What are some challenges you’ve faced as an artist? How have you overcome those challenges?

Navigating the industry as an independent artist. Lately I’ve been in discussion with different major labels and everything that comes along with that. The tension between staying independent (which is less glamorous but a long term pay off) versus signing and having the support of a machine yet giving up a large amount of what you’ve built.

Who do you look up to artistically?

Lauryn Hill, Bob Marley, Sam Cooke. People who were able to use their art to make an impact on something greater than themselves.

Is this new single the start of a new EP?

TBD
