Melbourne-based rapper and producer Grammar Tha God is a rising star in the Australian hip-hop scene. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Grammar Tha God. Wow, what an introduction to 'The Manifestation EP' “Visa” was so flawlessly executed. We have to ask, can you take us through the creative process for making it?
Thanks for reaching out & having me! I appreciate the kind words & support. VISA was the 5th & final single off The Manifestation EP. It came together when I came across the beat + hook from Legion Beats. I fell in love with the infectious production on the beat & wrote the first verse. The 2nd verse was written shortly after. Recording VISA in the studio was effortless as my lyrics flowed magnificently with the beat. Legion Beats produced most of the EP, so I give him & his team alot of credit for my sound on the project.
So you took a little hiatus, and now 'The Manifestation EP' is your triumphant return. What’s your favourite track on the EP?
My favourite track on the EP would have to be "Energy." I love the international vibe it gives off sonically. It's a vibe! But I must say that I genuinely love the entire project, especially the opening track Only Right, which was the first single.
You’ve been keeping consistent with your music for a long time. Why do you make music, and what does making music make you feel?
I make music because it's one of the gifts that the universe has blessed me with. It's also something I've been intrigued by & passionate about since I was a child. Making music is therapeutic & spiritual for me at this point in my career. It's also extremely fun! It's something that I'll always be involved in, in some way, shape or form.
How would you describe your music to new listeners?
My music is something that you need in your life! Be ready to feel inspired & motivated to be your highest self by listening to my music! Tap into the frequency.
What’s next for Grammar Tha God? Can we expect to hear new music soon?
I got my sophomore EP 'Gifted Revolutionary,' on the way with the first single, "Finish It," dropping on the 31st! As far as what's next for us, my team & I are gonna keep mashing in 2023 & releasing new music and videos & performing at live shows. We also have BMG merch on the way, so look out for some dope clothing from us very soon.
