Till I Turn Blue Captures Us With New Single And Music Video "Death Of Me"
Till I Turn Blue was founded by Gabriel (Drums) and Beau (Guitar). Beau and Gabriel had been in past projects in San Antonio for some years prior. Looking for the remaining pieces of the puzzle, they met Lino who came and tried out for vocals. Till I Turn Blue released the lyrically compelling rock single “Death Of Me”. A song that talks about the toxic emotions received by someone who's meant to bring happiness rather than negatively impact your life. “Baby, Baby, can’t you see? You’re the death of me” the lyrics read. I took from this that he genuinely cares about this person and that’s obviously apparent, however, this person took it for granted and did nothing but detriment his happiness and emotions. I really love the hook on this song, I’m just a big fan of the melody, I saw myself starting to sing along around the second time the hook played.
The instrumentalists were badass though. They stuck to that real dirty hardcore rock grit while STILL having the ability to transition into a canorous and subtle sound to match the passionate vocals by the vocalist. The vocalist has that rough grit and rasp, perfectly adding the intense emotion to the song. Personally not being a fan of rock, bands like Till I Turn Blue grasps your attention and unintentionally encourages you to explore the genre more because you can’t help but fall in love with their music. “Death Of Me” is a product of example.

Care to introduce yourself to the readers?
We are 'Till I Turn Blue' from San Antonio, TX, formed in 2016.
Can you give us a brief history of your bands career?
We all have had music experience/history with the exception of Lino. This is Lino’s first band, which took us some time to get comfortable writing and creating music with each other. Currently we have an EP out that has 5 songs that gives the audience a general idea of how we sound. We say 'general' because some of those songs date from around 2010, when myself (Beau) and Gabriel had a project going. We've been grinding the San Antonio circuit, playing multiple venues to build a local fan base. Our most recent work was creating our first music video for our song 'Death Of Me' that we released on November 10th 2018.
How did you guys come up with your name? Is there a meaning behind it?
We had a list of band names from each member. We narrowed down the list and Till I Turn Blue was the favorite amongst the band. This was one of Lino's names from the list. The meaning from his perspective is that everybody goes through tribulations, stress, depression, and anxiety at some point in their life. Bottling up emotions and turning their days blue.
Do you guys write your own music?
Yes we do. The songs are usually brought in by Beau's guitar and most of the time we build on that.
Can you tell us a bit about your writing styles?
Beau and Gabriel have been playing together since 2006. They have a writing style that is riff driven and complimented by powerful drumming. Miguel (bass) adapts easily to whatever is brought in the band. His bass playing is advanced and his style blends great with the music. Lino being the lyricist brings his life experiences, and vast emotions to the table. His writing style derives from his love for 90's artists such as Eddie Vedder, Scott Sapp, and Chris Cornell. He writes his lyrics hoping that he can reach out to that one person, letting them know they're not alone.
We're really into your new song 'Death Of Me". Can you tell us a bit about it?
The music portion of the song was around for quite some. It was a struggle to find the right chemistry to make it unique in its own way. Lino showed us his take on the song and we knew that was the direction we wanted to go.
Where did the inspiration behind the song come from?
From a toxic relationship that consisted of jealousy, emotional/physical abuse, and knowing in your heart that you have to let go of someone you love.
Any upcoming shows?
January 25th at Bonds Rock Bar in San Antonio.
For someone who hasn't seen you live yet, how would you describe your performance?
We've been told our performances are energetic, tight, and memorable.
What's next for TITB in 2019?
We are releasing our first single titled 'We The People' in January. We will be working diligently on our album that will be released in the summer of 2019. We plan to play more shows in and out of Texas to promote our new album.
