Welcome to BuzzMusic, Trademvrq, we love the vibrancy in “Piña Colada.” What inspired you to bring such an upbeat song to life? In your own words, what does it mean to you?
The upbeat nature has a lot to with manifestation in my own life. I’m hoping to speak a lot of positive energy into my future, particularly, my determination to reach my goals within the music industry. These past several months have been kinda crazy but I’m still outside, you can’t blame me.
Could you please share a glimpse into the creative process that you took on when creating Piña Colada?"
It was one of the earlier songs to be finished in a pretty large recording session and I like to be in the moment whenever I create music. There are a lot of timely topics in my personal life that I was referring to in the song. I was also reminiscing on my past and how far I’ve come on my journey as well as acknowledging the goals I haven’t reached yet. I focused a lot of those thoughts and emotions into this song and I feel like I did I pretty good job conveying my experiences in the track.
We’re so intrigued by Trademvrq Thursday! What inspired you to come up with this concept and how does it work?
I can’t take all of the credit for the idea of Trademvrq Thursday. I get a lot of advice from my good friend and business partner, Matt Luther. We collaborate on a lot of different aspects of my career, creative or otherwise. I had an idea in 2020 to release a song every week and it kinda manifested into Trademvrq Thursday. Every song is a recorded freestyle, which I feel allows me to be myself during recording sessions and avoid overthinking any one lyric or melody. It’s been something that I am very dedicated to, I haven’t missed a date yet and I plan on continuing this in the future.
What has been the best piece of advice you have received throughout your artistic career so far? How do you apply it to what you do?
Art is ever-changing and I have to say that the most powerful piece of advice that I’ve gotten would have to be myself. Not to be afraid to do things that are different and outside of the box. I’m sure that my fans that have been following since the beginning have realized that I’m not afraid to experience new styles of music. I’m excited to keep going down this path and see what else I can create with this newfound freedom. I like to approach every song with a free spirit and try to stay out of my own way as much as possible, kinda let the music write itself.
