Yashae's Powerful New Single 'Will You Be Home Tonight?'
Born and bred in the cool mountains of Jamaica, Yashae is a singer-songwriter who is aiming to spellbind people with her sultry sound and refreshing take on urban music. Her lyrics and musical style are reflective of her Caribbean roots, and she embraces and incorporates hip hop elements into her compositions to create a rich and dynamic sound. Yashae uses her unique musical techniques and soulful voice to create a work of art with her latest single 'Will You Be Home Tonight?'. The song has soulful, urban elements and beautifully drawn out vocal notes, that have us flashing back to the 'Good Girl Gone Bad' days of Rihanna. Though the song is fun and upbeat, it doesn't distract us away from the words that are being sang. The song is the realization that everything the couple once had has has been striped away. In the end, it's not about the materialistic things that many of us focus on. It's about the company that you bring and love that you have in your life. Yashae is not slowing down anytime soon, we predict 'Will You Be Home Tonight?' will be climbing the charts in future months.
Care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hello everyone! My name is Yashae, Princess of Jamaican Pop as I’ve affectionately dubbed myself and an all-around lover of all things musical!
Tell us a bit about your new song and the writing style behind it.
'Will You Be Home Tonight?' is a Pop ode to love lost and is a testament to the possibility of rekindling an old, unforgettable flame. Despite the somber subject matter, I had always intended for the song to be a fun and catchy ballad. I wanted to use materialistic culture to emphasize the ending of a relationship. Trips to Miami, Paris, all that fancy stuff is gone because of this breakup, and I wanted the pain in this song to be almost palpable without being too depressing.
Where did the inspiration behind the song come from?
Well, to be honest I had always wanted to write a song with the word ‘ Cirque du Soleil’ in it (corny as hell I know) and I had the spirit of Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” when I penned “Will You Be Home Tonight?” . I just wanted my narrative to have a happier ending! Frankly, the inspiration came from my belief that in the end , if something is meant to be , it will be. Sometimes you just have to make a lot of phone calls asking if he or she “Will Be Home Tonight?”
What are the top 3 things you would love your fans to know about you on the more personal side of things?
