Welcome to BuzzMusic, Yuli Argo. How does it feel to have your emotionally raw single "Falling for you" out on streaming platforms?
Thank you so much for having me! OMG, I'm excited and terrified at the same time! I've never shared my music with anyone before, so it's a massive step for me as an artist! I'm not going to lie, and I feel super nervous!
How did you acquire the influence for the lyrical content in "Falling For You?" Was it based on a personal connection?
Yes! I wrote "Falling For You" four years ago, and it's based on feelings and emotions I experienced then, but during quarantine, I decided to upgrade it a little. I completely changed the chorus, and it gave the song a different dreamy vibe!
You've mentioned that writing was an element of music that didn't come naturally to you, confidence-wise. Can you share how you've progressed with your confidence in writing from when you first began to now, especially in the light of your release "Falling For You?"
As you know, English is my second language, and like most immigrants, I had and still have that fear of speaking or writing something wrong or incorrect. As soon as I got more comfortable with the language, I got more comfortable with writing! It's funny, but it's easier for me to write lyrics in English now than in Russian!
What were you hoping listeners would feel and think upon listening to "Falling For You?" What was the main goal with this particular single, and how did "Falling For You" attribute to your overall message as an artist?
I chose "Falling For You" as my debut single for a reason. I think a lot of people will be able to relate to it! The main goal was to make people relive that state of being in love, make them feel those butterflies again, and since it ends in uncertainty, I want them to decide for themselves at the end of the story. As for me, I always choose a happy ending!
What's next for you?
That's a good question! I enjoyed the creative process of making the song so much that I have so many ideas and thoughts about other music I want to put out there next! I have a couple of songs that are ready for production and several unfinished ones. The main goal now is EP! But first, I need to rest a little. The whole release process was a bit stressful for me, but I think it's always like that when you are doing something for the first time!
