Filmed illegally in the depths of the Los Angeles Metro Rails, the band, actor Patrick McLain and our cameraman and makeup artist cleverly snuck our camera and monitor inside. No fancy trailers, or any indulgence of any kind. This video was made gorilla style; on the fly and as quick as possible so as not be detected by the Metro cops who constantly police the area. We barely got our last shot before we were discovered.
I decided to delve into my movie background and create a character for this video. I envisioned her as someone who's yearning and searching for the lover she lost so long ago , keeping her trapped in a constant state of angst and hope. I thought it would be fun to cast a professional actor to be my lover The Soldier (Patrick Mclain).
Shot entirely on the fly with no permits (sorry LA Metro:) by cinematographer John Defazio (The Canyons, Catharsis) with hair and make up by Jeff Jones, I directed and wrapped this in one day, bringing the band (Adam Smith, Mike Evans) back a day later, for some air guitar pick up shots. Deep down in the city: dim, constant, dirty and beautiful all at once. This is "The Metro"

Los Angeles-based Kill My Coquette delivers pop hooks with a snotty rock sneer.
Regulars on the Sunset Strip with audiences spanning across SoCal, Kill My Coquette has opened for bands like Off! and Bad Religion. Their punk-infused music video for Post Teenage Angst features rock legends Richie Ramone (Ramones), Cherie Currie (The Runaways), and DJ Rodney Bingenheimer. Bingenheimer played Kill My Coquette first on Los Angeles' premiere rock radio station KROQ, and continues to spin their songs since his move to SiriusXM.
Kill My Coquette frontwoman Natalie Denise Sperl is also an accomplished actress. Currently she can be seen playing Greta Garbo in David Fincher's "MANK" out now on Netflix. Sperl broke into entertainment as a model, featured on magazine covers and runways across Europe. Born and raised in the Midwest, she relocated to Los Angeles when she fell in love with acting. Sperl has starred in cult horror flicks, studio films, and hit TV shows. She recently received the Best Supporting Actress Award from Flicks Film Festival for her work in the film “Bardo Blues.”
