Atlanta-Based Artist Yassie Captivates With Smoky Vocals In “Trouble”

Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Yassie is a 24-year-old singer/songwriter who began her pursuit in music when she was just 8 years old. Originally singing with her mother in the choir, Yassie developed a love for writing poetry and eventually combined to two art forms. Sadly, Yassie’s mother passed away in 2009 but music provides an emotional outlet and a way for her to express herself. Yassie is currently hard at work in the studio preparing her self-titled EP, expected to be released early November! Yassie’s lyrics are clever and expressive, her look is enticing, and her voice is hypnotic, stay on the lookout! “Trouble” is a versatile track that features a smooth R&B aura, Yassie’s soulful vocals, rhythmic verses, and a well-fitting melodic delivery. Whether she’s weaving through catchy verses or the addicting hook, her powerhouse vocals remain strong over top of the intricate soundscape.

“Trouble” is a track all about love and desire and wanting to spend time with the person you love as much as possible, despite what you’ve been through. Yassie’s songwriting ability will leave you singing along to every moment. “Trouble” features a hook that will guarantee a second listen. We welcome this budding songstress into the BuzzMusic Family with open arms and we can’t wait to see what she delivers next!

Welcome to BuzzMusic Yassie! You give off a really confident aura through your music! Is this a skill you've developed over time or has it come naturally to you?

This is definitely a skill I’ve developed over time, the more I record my music the more confident I become. However, I definitely still have those moments where I say to myself “ this is really me singing !”. “Trouble” hit us to our very core with your vocal performance. Do you find it comes effortlessly to fill your voice with such passion?

Wow, thank you so much for that compliment! Yes, I do find it effortless because I allow myself to truly feel the beat and allow my words and the melody to flow.

As a song that presents itself as a heart-warming love song with a twist, was it emotional for you to write/record "Trouble”?

Yes, it was. But we have all had a relationship where we know the person was not best for us but we still continued with that relationship. This song was about my own personal experience. Do you feel that your music is an accurate depiction of your life? Do you feel ultimately connected to your listeners through your music?

Yes, I talk about my own personal experiences. I do feel connected to my listeners because when I’m writing and recording music you're getting the real me raw and uncensored. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways?

Anytime ! The next thing would be releasing my EP “Yassie” the official release date is still in the works but it is expected to be released during the first week of November. My creativity does manifest itself in other ways, I’m actually looking into audio engineering to add to my musical resume.
