Welcome to BuzzMusic! What was your upbringing into music like? How did you get started?
I got started in music super young as a musician. Both sides of my family were heavy into music. On my Mother side they were in a gospel group and toured the world with names like Little Richard & Shirley Caesar. On my Dad side they were signed to a label named A&M and played with names like PFunk All Stars & Rose Royce. I guess it was natural for them to encourage me to learn instruments and follow my dreams.
Who are you music influences? How do they inspire your sound?
Life is my music influence, Everything I see, hear and experience is used at inspiration for my next song. because of that Im constantly writing and creating new songs. Although I do have favorite artist I love listening to I can never name them all because I listen to a bit of everything no matter genre or popularity.
What sets “Bangbros” apart in the hip-hop music industry?
I think what sets it apart is the simple fact that it's not your typical rap song. Im never into following trends, I just like to be myself and create organically without thinking about format and fitting some imaginary standard.
We love the track “Bangbros”, can you dive into more details about the lyrics? What was the writing process like?
Well for this song @Deezy_Baby and I were just in a mood of we don't care what everyone else is doing or what labels are asking us to do, we jus wanna have fun and talk about our life at the moment. The process of this song started with Deezy making the beat then I basically went into the booth turned the mic on and started to freestyle for a bit. I then came up with the hook for the song and a rough idea of the verses. I like to have days where I just do a lot of hooks so I ended up stopping there and taking it home to write it. I came back the next day, recorded the verses mixed the song and played it bout about 40 times lol.
What’s next for StarChild Yeezo?
I've been super busy recently, Im gonna continue to release new music because I have so much to share with everyone. I also just wrote No Judgement on Chris Browns Album "Indigo" with my team BPMG, I just Produced Great Escape for Bridget Kelly, I just released a song with Far East Movement called Maps Featuring Me, I just produced a song called Take A Walk on Satica's Album that just released, I just produced and featured on 3 songs for Dumbfoundead's last Album, I released a song with a very dope DJ named Jetpak called OK featuring me.... The List goes on and on. Also I just started a shoe line called StarChild so I guess jus keep looking and listening for the Name cuz its gonna be everywhere.
