Thank you for joining us at BuzzMusic Poel. You've truly left your mark on us with the release of your spirited single, "de la costa." What inspired you to write such a passionate and feel-good hit?
First off, thanks! I just moved down to Redondo Beach, CA, and felt inspired by surfing and chilling on the beach every day! All that sunshine you know!?
How did you create the instrumentals and sonics for "de la costa" to enhance and amplify your passionate lyrical content? How does the sonic atmosphere help bring the entire concept to life?
I wrote the main guitar riff on an acoustic, and then demo'd the drums and electric guitars on logic. I knew the lyrics had to live up to the instrumental vibe I had created. I co-wrote the lyrics in-studio w my good bud charlie.
What did you want to make the listener feel after experiencing the savory sounds of "de la costa?"
Inspired, happy, magical, hopeful!
What experiences often inspire your music? Would you say that most of your tunes are inspired by passionate human connections?
Yes, definitely by passionate human connections. But without sounding too meta, also by magical moments with mother Gaia. Swimming, surfing in the ocean, and long walks on the beach. etc.
