Welcome to Buzz, Bbboris! We loved “Flower,” we wanted to ask! What was the inspiration behind this release? Were you drawing from personal experience?

The inspiration for Flower was a beautiful girl with whom I fell in love. Her name is Nargis, and our relationship is complicated, to say the least. The song was a sort of goodbye to her. I have a history of dealing with heartbreak through my music, and this instance was no different. Nargis means a type of flower in Dari, so I named the song after her in a sense.

What’s your favorite part of the creative process and why?

My favorite part of the process is falling in love. I love love. I used to enjoy hearing the music I made out of Love, but over time, I’ve come to realize that if I was compelled to make and release a song out of Love, that usually means I've lost it. A bittersweet sentiment, but I’m still hopeful.

What’s the origin behind your name?

Boris is my legal name. I just added two b’s to the beginning of my name to make it stand out better online. To be honest, it's a pretty boring origin story, but over time, I’ve come to use those extra Bs and have fun with them, calling myself “bad boy Boris” or “break bread Boris” or whatever fun alliteration I can think of.

What quality do you believe is the most important for a musician to have?

In my eyes, the most important quality for a musician is a love of music. That will keep one dedicated, persistent, and authentic to their craft and artistry.

What’s next for Bbboris, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?

I take my life day by day, so I don’t sweat the future too much, but I’m hoping to release more music, maybe do some shows, and expand the movement. I have a label, M4BMU$IK, with friends and fellow artists, so watching them grow and develop their own vision is always exciting. We’re hoping to put on a tour and establish ourselves as a collective.

Regarding my fans, friends, family, supporters, haters, and others, it’s always love, respect, and blessings. I’m not one of those artists who expects people to listen to or appreciate my music, so when they do, it’s always inspiring and uplifting to me. All I can say is thank you.
