Coming in from Oklahoma City, the up-and-coming r&b/pop artist and singer-songwriter LRYN pairs up with rapper Kale Isaac for their refreshing and uplifting single, "COME THRU."
A rather experimental artist, LRYN's sound blurs the lines between old-school hip-hop, nostalgic r&b, and contemporary pop. Striving to merge the sounds of pop and r&b with her eclectic tunes, LRYN does so with help from inspirations like H.E.R, Tori Kelly, Queen Herby, and many more.
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter LRYN recently released her flavorful single, "COME THRU," with help from rapper/recording artist Kale Isaac. When taking a listen to the single, both artists swooned our ears with their sensual and exciting performances while grooving away to the song's in-depth and refreshing sonic atmosphere.
Diving into "COME THRU," the track opens with a light synth melody alongside a punchy and crisp r&b/pop drum arrangement. As LRYN opens the song with her bright and airy vocal stylings, she begins to delve into the song's lyrical theme surrounding a worry-free state of mind and leaving her stressors at the door during a needed celebration.
As the song continues on this light-hearted and spirited venture, LRYN continues to drench us in her uplifting lyrics that encourage us to clear our minds and leave 2020 in our rearview mirrors. Just as Kale Isaac makes his way in with an exciting rap, he soaks our speakers in his natural charisma and attitude that leaves us craving our future experiences while leaving the past behind.
Keep moving forward with help from LRYN and Kale Isaac's latest hit, "COME THRU," now available on all digital streaming platforms.
Thank you for joining us at BuzzMusic LRYN. We love the uplifting and carefree vibe of your latest hit, "COME THRU." What inspired you to create such a relaxed yet feel-good single like this?
Thank you! That’s something I love most about the song as well. I went into the song with no expectations. I know I wanted to write what was on my heart and on my mind. At the time, COVID was still very present and at that point, I was exhausted, and I just wanted to be with my friends again. I think I was missing a part of my life I knew wasn’t there anymore. The song is kind of like me imagining what it would be like to go back before everything was shut down!
How did Kale Isaac fit the vibe you had in mind for "COME THRU?" Why did you choose his stylings to feature on this hit?
Kale is such a dope artist and he actually recently switched genres from dreamy pop to hip hop/rap. He loved the beat from the beginning and wanted the song and I think had some freestyle written. Once I heard his verse I immediately said yes to him being on the track. It just fit so perfectly and our styles are very similar, so it worked like magic.
Who produced the toe-tapping and groovy sonics for "COME THRU?" What mood or atmosphere did you want to portray when creating the sonic landscape?
Logan Bruhn produced, co-wrote, mix and mastered this track. He is a genius! As soon as he sent me the beat I go so excited. I just knew there was something special about it. I knew I wanted the overall mood to portray some bad b**** energy. I wanted the song to make you get off your feet and dance, I can easily say it makes me do that.
Could you tell us more about your artistic brand and what you strive to represent and stand for within your music? What should your audience associate you with?
Building a brand/look is important to me and it took me a while to kind of figure out “who I was” as an artist. I’m finally feeling comfortable in my own skin and I want to strive for authenticity. If there’s anything I want my audience to associate me with, it's authenticity. Being 100% you and living your truth, even if you don’t know exactly what you’re doing at the moment. That’s what it’s all about.
What's next for you?
I’m so happy you asked! I have another single ready to go and I’m excited to share it with the world! I’ve got so much more music to release. Be on the lookout for announcements.
