BuzzMusic Exclusive: A Night With Claudio Ferrone

Hey Claudio welcome back to BuzzMusic! What can you tell us about your brand new EP?

Thanks! My new EP is comprised of 3 songs representing different stages of a party. Work it is a lovely mood setting piano track that is being included in the Stereophonic Records ADE sampler album (link: https://soundcloud.com/stereophonic/sets/stph156-aavv-stereophonic-amsterdam-2019-ade-sampler-stereophonic). Oiemi continues the mood creation at as a wonderful mid-set track with catchy vocals to get people grooving. The EP concludes with the late night track aptly called “All Night” with it’s driving bassline and deep vocals.

What was it like spinning at Minus 80 Bar in Dalt Vila, Ibiza?

It was a dream come true for the simple fact that it was my first experience DJing in Ibiza and internationally. A small intimate venue, I stumbled across it whilst exploring Dalt Vila during the International Music Summit and was welcomed openly by very kind ownership. While a short set, it was a fun one and was a great ice-breaker for me and my emerging DJ career.

What can you tell us about the Amsterdam Dance Event 2019 and your involvement?

The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is a five-day electronic music conference and festival held annually in mid-October. ... The shows attract over 350,000 people from all over the world to the city, making Amsterdam one of the busiest clubbing cities in the world. I am very fortunate to be included in the lineup of the Italian record label Stereophonic Records who will be hosting a showcase of their DJs and artists on October 16th at the Tara in Amsterdam. They have also included my track “work it” in their sampler compilation. I will be attending the conference and aiming to spin a killer set so that I can get noticed. : )

If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why?

“Music is the Answer” Mike Vale. Music has been a part of my life for so long and it really defines me. I can express every mood, feeling and sensation and this song is a reminder to me. The vocals reach deep down and when the bass hits, it just lifts my spirits high.

Where is the best setting to listen to your songs, and what do you hope people take away from them?

I try to make my tracks and podcasts as versatile as possible to be enjoyed in the gym to the club (I’m a fan of listening to my music in the car whilst driving). Ideally, the club is the best place as the bassline move right through you. I hope people can take away my passion and love of the music in the tracks. I hope they feel the groovy sensations of Oiemi, the uplifting pianos of Work It and that push to really go all night.

What do you hope to achieve as an artist through the end of 2019?

As an artist, my goal is to get better at translating my thoughts into music, to keep learning new techniques, to fearlessly experiment and to build my audience for my podcast and my music.
