Welcome back, Talia! For those of you who don’t know, how would you describe your sound and approach to making music?
My musical sound is a unique blend of pop with electronic dance undertones. There are layers of hip hop influence in my beats and vocals generally are immersed in r&b/soul tones.
When making music I always dig deep and really write from the perspective of my outlook on life. My lyrics generally are very uplifting and motivating, but also makes one think about the purpose of life and making the best use of your time. I’m always thinking about my dreams and goals for life, so that inevitably comes through in my lyrics and overall song themes.
Congrats on the release of your new song “Unstoppable”! What does this song represent for you?
This song really represents my outlook on the future. Every lyric is written to bring hope and inspiration. I believe that words are incredibly powerful and I wrote this song with the intention of every word to speak life and encouragement to every person whose ever had a dream that seemed impossible. My main purpose of my music is to open people’s eyes to realize how much potential is inside them. Everyday people hear words of doubt & negativity which can really dampen a person’s hope.
“Unstoppable” is a reminder to every person that their dreams are achievable, their vision can be accomplished, and you will bless and impact those around you because you didn’t give up. I want this song to be the reason someone didn’t give up on their dream.
Where is the best setting to listen to “Unstoppable”, and what do you hope people take away from it?
I’d say you could listen to this song anywhere. My main hope is that when people listen to this song, they are energized, their hope is renewed, perspective becomes positive, and overall that you feel unstoppable. Encouragement can really change a person's trajectory in life. Just as words of doubt can defeat someone, words of hope can radically transform a person’s life for the better.
What’s the concept behind the brand new music video?
The music video concept was created to be an introduction of who I am as an artist. I wanted to give viewers a look at my personality, somewhat silly side, and overall a way to know me better.
If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why?
I would say ‘Unstoppable’ really describes my sound accurately since it’s my most recent work. The overall theme of the song really encompasses who I am as an artist and my music style.
What are the main values you hope to represent as an artist?
The main values I want to represent as an artist would be hope and inspiration through dynamic music that really emphasizes the overall theme of living out your dreams and purpose for life. The music I make is layered with lyrics and music production that is meant to be a powerful anthem of motivation and inspiration for every person with a dream. That’s what I hope to represent as an artist.
