Catching up with The Como Brothers!

This year has been production, to say the least, for The Como Brothers. Matt and Andrew Como are a musical duo that combines pop, soft-rock, and blues to create original tracks that demand to be heard. The dynamic duo has an impressive musical repertoire, including their 5 new songs released this year. Their latest releases have been recorded with Grammy-nominated recording engineer Kenta Yonesaka at Germano Studios in New York City. Kicking off the year with “One & Only”, The Como Brothers quickly followed with release with my personal favorite, a funk-inspired pop-rock single “Money”. Slowing things down but still keeping that sway to their authentic sound, “Take Me Home” follows a blissful story-line and features The Como Brothers expert lyricism and brilliant instrumentation.

One of the brother’s newest releases, “Shooting Star” is an explosive new track that I hope to see more of in the near future. “I See Something” was just released early October and is a raw and open new love ballad from The Como Brothers. It showcases not only their heart but the admirable versatility these guys are able to showcase. We can never get enough of The Como Brothers and we’re always excited to feature their new music. Stay on the lookout for their brand new single “Cheap Talk” coming soon!

Welcome back, Matt and Andrew! It’s such a pleasure to chat with you again. You’ve had a really incredible year! What would you say you’re the proudest of?

I would say that we’re most proud of the fact that we’ve been releasing a new song once a month this year.  We began releasing a new song every 30 days starting this past July, and we will continue to do so through the end of 2020.

“I See Something” is a great new track but it seems to have a meaningful message behind the lyrics. Can you tell us more about this song in particular?

I See Something is a love song that I wrote for a former girlfriend of mine.  It was my way of letting her know how I felt about her

Of all of the venues you’ve toured this year, what city or venue has been the most memorable and why?

I don’t know if we have a single venue that’s our favorite.  We have various favorites for different reasons.  We love some venues that we’ve played at in NYC; Webster Hall, The Cutting Room, Hard Rock Café in Times Square.  We also love playing at the Middle East in Boston.

"One & Only" is the perfect track to introduce new listeners to your sound in 2019. Where did you draw inspiration for this particular track?

Matt wrote this one about someone he was interested in at the time.  He was going to show the person the song, but he never did.

Since you’ve been making music for several years, how would you compare some of the earlier material you’ve written to one of your newer releases like “Shooting Star”?

We’re always trying to refine our playing, singing, and writing abilities.  I’m not sure how to compare it to our earlier material other than we view it as more mature and enhanced.

Thank you for talking with us once again! What can you tell us about your upcoming single “Cheap Talk”?

Thanks for having us!  Cheap Talk comes out on November 19th.  It’s about people in your life that talk behind your back but smile to your face.  We’re super excited to release the song and can’t wait for everyone to hear it!  The release will be accompanied by a music video.
