Chatrooms is an indie rock/alternative band from the San Fernando Valley. Formed at the beginning of 2016, they released their first EP in June of that year and has been followed by “Home Movies” (2017), “Fall ‘89” (2018), “It’s Alright” and “Shorting Out” (2019). With an impressive repertoire and much success already, the only place for Chatrooms to go is up! Stay tuned!
Chatrooms have released a captivating new anthem, entitled “It’s Alright”. The song makes for a classic indie rock experience that builds up from quiet contemplation to absolute passion and energy throughout its three and a half minute lifespan. Showcasing cascading, gritty guitar-work, stunning melodic development, brilliant use of instrumental contrast, and a generally immense and audience-aware band who are making music out of sheer love for the art form and a need to do so. The leading vocalist offers more than enough weight and emotion to carry this song and its underlying sentiments in a genuine and captivating way, and at the same time, there’s a clear level of identity and character to the tone of voice and this particular style of delivery, adding further to Chatroom’s recognizable aura. Another breath of fresh air and a mighty step in the right direction for the unstoppable revival of rock music!

Welcome to BuzzMusic! We love “It’s Alright”! What was the writing process like for this track?
First off, thank you BuzzMusic for having us!
“It’s Alright” is a song that came together pretty quickly and naturally. We wrote it last year while playing shows in support of our release at the time, “Fall ‘89”. It felt great while playing and it got a great response live, so we decided to take it to our friend Mike Pepe who helped out with some arrangements and finalizing the song. We recorded with Mike this past October/November. Once we had the audio, we knew we had to match that quality visually as well. We hired David Scott Heath, who did animation for us in the past, to do another animated video for “It’s Alright”. Everything came together and we were able to release in June of this year. We can’t say thank you enough to everyone for the response so far. It’s been very humbling and we hope everyone continues to enjoy the song.
Can you dive into details about the lyrics in “It’s Alright”?
Ultimately, “It’s Alright” is about acceptance.
Accepting the loss, accepting yourself and through that, knowing that it’ll be fine.
What are your thoughts on mainstream music today?
Like most things in life, some of it is good and some of it is not so good. For anyone to just say “oh mainstream music sucks” or “anything on the radio isn’t good” is not a smart way of looking at it. Remember, only a Sith deals in absolutes!
What’s your live performance like? Do you have any upcoming events or shows you’d like to talk about?
