CienTell Sits Down to Discuss Life as a Dancer and Entering the Music Industry!

Thanks for talking with us today at Buzz Music! CienTell, you have been a dancer for several years, what inspired you to transition to being a singer/songwriter?

I have always had a love for music since I was 8 years young. When I first heard the R&B singer Aaliyah, groups like TLC and Jodeci, I knew that one day I would be in the music industry. I needed to be surrounded by other music artists to get the experience and confidence to do my own.

Do you find that having a background in dancing has been able to help propel your career as a vendor, making you stand out above most?

Yes indeed! There’s a quote I stated on Facebook which is “ Without music, what would I dance to and without dance, how will I express my passion and musicality?” Lyrics and movement go hand in hand and what makes me stand out from others is the ability to express what my passion is through intricate dance moves!

What has been your biggest accomplishment so far as an artist? You seem to be getting a lot of radio play on 105.9 Kiss FM in Detroit! As well as BBC Radio in the UK.  My biggest accomplishment was putting out my 1st single, “Slow” out on YouTube and with it being featured on VEVO til this day. The film director Diego Cruz shot the video just because he believed in me. That was in February 2015 so yeah, people believed in me before they became global :)

Your new song Grown N Sexy has come out on November 9th, do you have any new singles slotted for the end of 2019? Can we expect new music soon?

Yes my new single “Grown N Sexy” is on Spotify, as well as my new song “Confidence Within” My newly released album, Hear Me Out, is also on iTunes, Spotify and

Lastly, what message do you want to leave everyone with to do what you have done in following your dreams and natural talents as a singer/ dancer?

Believe in yourself first and make sure you know that whatever passion you have is what you believe you will succeed in. Be your biggest supporter and as I say in my song, “Confidence Within” - “You gotta hustle up that confidence cause it’s not hard to get and it’s magnificent”. :)
