Craymo was born Craig Stephen Raymo in Massena, New York and grew up in nearby Ogdensburg, a quiet little city on the St. Lawrence River bordering Canada. Growing up with a passion for music and feeling the call of the big city, Craig left college and moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dreams. He soon landed acting gigs in the TV soap operas General Hospital and Days Of Our Lives, most recently in The Watchman’s Edict (2017), The Misadventures of Walt’s Frozen Head (2017) and the HBO original film Recount. All the while focused on his music, Craymo wrote hundreds of songs and started recording demos in Los Angeles recording studios. He made it big as released many singles and had so much success. If his name sounds familiar it’s because he wrote “One Love One World” which became a worldwide phenomenon being featured on the United Nations project UNESCO web site.

His most recent release “Take It Slow” is about exactly what the title insists. Craymo unfortunately lost his father in May 2018 and this song is dedicated to him. The catchy pop/EDM track will have you dancing in your seat. I love the positive and meaningful message behind all of Craymo’s lyricism. “Love to live, and live to love” is my favorite lyric throughout the entire song. It’s such a simple and raw meaning but so hard for some people to do nowadays. We all need to focus on slowing down because time is flying by. We need appreciate the ones we love, make mistakes and live life to the absolute fullest. Craymo strives the spread this light-hearted message of positivity throughout the world. I highly recommend checking out this incredible song and the fun-loving music video to accompany it is best part. It’s evident that Craymo practices what he preaches when you see the entertaining side of him come through in the video. Overall it’s an addicting song and an awesome new single from Craymo, we can’t wait to see what he delivers next!

Hi Craig! We love your new song “Take It Slow”. Can you tell us what the writing process was like?

I usually start with a hook or melody in my head. With Take It Slow it was a saying my Dad used a lot while I was growing up. It was my very first single as an artist that I wanted to re-record and re-create for my Dad. He loved all the old soul R&B singers of the 60’s so I did it with that vocal styling. My Dad got to hear the new version before he passed last May.He told me it was his favorite song that I have ever recorded!

What’s the meaning behind the music video?

The video and song are about life in the fast lane. It’s a reminder to slow down and enjoy life, to live in the moment. I wanted it to have a fun, playful spirit because that’s what my Dad was. He brought good vibes and a fun, positive attitude wherever he went. It’s a tribute to the greatest man in my life. The very end of the video I am standing in Cranberry Lake in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate NY in front of a large piece of driftwood. That is the lake my Dad lived on.

How do you continue to encourage your passion for music day to day?

Music lifts my spirit. It is my therapy. Music has been the one constant through my whole life and has helped me deal with everything that life throws at you. Music makes me happy.

What’s your stage presence like when you perform, for someone who hasn’t seen you live yet? I like to engage the crowd and get them to escape their troubles for a little while and enjoy themselves. I want them to feel my passion and I want to feel theirs.

When you're not making music, what do you do?

I am also a professional actor having performed in films, TV shows and commercials. I also work at Walt Disney World in Florida at an interactive themed 50’s restaurant as Cousin Craig!
